I am pretty certain that truth is frightening to Brokaw, he makes a living making up his own truth.

What’s frightening, Tom? The fact that we are able to GOOGLE a person’s past and play VIDEO clips of their actual words?! Or the fact that we are able to dig up past quotes and signed petitions and officially-held seats on boards of questionable associations?! You cannot operate in the dark any longer, Tom. Well, gee, Tom. Why didn’t you responsible journalists shed the light of truth on the Van Jones matter by debunking all of these ridiculous right-wing claims? And why don’t you ask left-wing politicians which of Van Jones’ statements they agree with, so that they can distance themselves from him?

That’s pretty funny - Brokaw saying “you have to vet information.” Just like the news crews vetted anything that obama has said or done from day one? Or when they picked up rumors about Sarah Palin directly from Kos and Huffington AS FACT? It’s too late. They’ve lost their audience and lost their credibility and it’s kind of fun to watch them try to act like they’re taking the high road now.

I make time to watch the Sunday Morning talking heads to see how they will mangle the news. Weekly, they confirm that they are still pathetic. I rely on FOX and internet for true news reporting. That is why this Mark Lloyd “diversity czar” needs to apply to work at the Chavez administration.

Yeah. That is good advice. But it was the context in which we hear this advice that just burns my ass.
He is making it out like this Van Jones guy is just a fine public servant who left too many digital footprints, and was crucified by a mob for partisan political purposes.
The real reason is that he is a marxist, racist, socialist and downright loon job who thought the government was behind 9/11 and “White” industry was deliberately targeting minority neighborhoods with toxic waste.
He didn’t say this as an 18 year old kid who was operating under the stupidity of youth as all of us did at one time.
He said these as a fully formed and developed political animal.
The REAL problem is that for every one of these Farrakhan-like racist, Marxist and socialist types who rise to the top of the water for us to see, there are dozens and dozens that we don’t see.
And until people accept the fact that Obama is EXACTLY THE SAME PHILOSOPHICALLY as people like Van Jones, Farrakhan, Wright and Ayers, we won’t be able to convince people that we need to remove him from office.
As for dumb asses like Brokaw, he and many of his ilk are just pissed off because they cannot dictate to people how they should form their opinions any more.
To them, independent thinking takes power away from them. And they are right. It does.
