Reaction to Obama’s school speech is tragic, sinister and sickening (Barf Alert)
Star-Telegram ^ | September 5, 2009 | Bob Ray Sanders

Posted on 09/06/2009 6:13:36 AM PDT by NCjim

Parents are talking about keeping their kids home from school this week.

Some so-called leaders are expressing grave concern "for the children" in fear of an impending disaster.

And the provocateurs who commandeer broadcast microphones on a daily basis continue to warn of a serious contagion that the nation must fight "by any means necessary."

I could understand it if these folk were worried about the H1N1 ("swine flu") virus, but that’s not their concern.

The infection they are afraid of is the president of the United States and his possible influence on America’s children.

In an age when schools are wired with the latest technology, and a young, confident president knows how to use it, the White House thought it a good idea for Barack Obama to address the nation’s youth. His Tuesday speech can be viewed live in the classroom or recorded and used later.

Many parents have balked at that idea and have put pressure on school administrators not to show the speech or use its proposed accompanying lesson plans. Area districts are handling the matter in different ways: some leaving it up to individual teachers, some taping it to be used on request by students or instructors and at least one that will make it available for parents’ use to decide if their youngsters should view it.

What is tragic, sinister and sickening is Obama’s attempt to enlist school children in his ideological agenda and manipulate them for political gain.

“BOB RAY SANDERS” now there is a “journalist” of renown.

Hey now, he's a recipient of the National Association of Black Journalists award for Best TV Sports Feature, as well as being a member of the advisory board of the AIDS Outreach Center in Fort Worth!

What would Bob Ray Sanders have said if George W Bush had done the same thing—not just the speech, but the study materials packets and the “suggested” assignments, including forcing the children to write letters to themselves asking what they can do to help President Bush?

I’m not barfing over this article.
I’m reveling in it.
The State-Run Media is being forced to recognize the phenomenon of parents across America openly revolting against 0bama’s indoctrination scheme.

The fact that they would characterize it this way is of no surprise, and of no consequence.
Just the fact that they are talking about it at all is enough.

0bama is imploding on every front.
We are seeing the early days of a truly historic failed presidency.
We have 3 years of fun ahead of us, if 0bama lasts that long.
If he resigns or is impeached before then, then we get an extra special spectacle to watch: the Joe Biden Show.

The speech is a slap across the face of the radical teachers NEA union. As bad and socialist as they are, the message from the White House is “you have failed, your feeble efforts at indoctrination into the shining pathway of socialist hope are inadequate”

I too think it is tragic sinister, and shocking that this President has come into office shoving crap down our throats so fast that even his ardent admirers have finally become so frightened of his Socialist-Communist idea’s that they are afraid to let him get his Commie ideas into the minds of their kids.

When this president surrounds himself with communists & people of questionable reputation - you'd better believe that this nation will do everything it can to protect their treasures.....their freedom & their children.

It might even be more persuasive if Obama would have given this same speech to the children in the schools of Chicago while he was a senator. It's very telling that he didn't have any interest in giving such guidance where it was definitely needed!

This entire disaster of the White House giving 'assignment' orders for the teachers to promote a cozy relationship between him & our children is despicable.

Does that mean the “gravitas in a can” gray hair will be gone again?

With all seriousness, what scares the left the most is that the oblivious masses, who usually can’t see past AI or an NFL game are actually paying attention now. We can’t have THAT!

Personally I think this business of parents keeping their kids home from school is a fine bit of grassroots activism. The town hall marine that told the politician to “stay away from my kids” spoke for the multitudes. Aside from being a massive vote of no confidence, it is a public demonstration that the public is on to the pinko tactics of the administration. They’ve been too highhanded for too long and they are being brought up short, finally.

The whole spectacle, every bit of it, is a wonderful education for our children in what not to do. In this world of whitewashed evil, our offspring seldom get to witness true malevolence. Well, this is their chance. I know my grade school children are acutely aware of the smarminess oozing from the administration. Don’t think that the rest of their generation isn’t aware of it.

One of this parent’s proudest moments, was learning that my daughter’s fifth grade class literally booed their teacher when they learned she was going to vote for Obama. It made all of those diaper changes worth it. :-) <— Beaming Parent

I love the way he says "The White House". As if Obama was merely being agreeable and wasn't the driving force behind this. Obama is increasingly portrayed as a victim of the right wing mob by the media. They will never place any blame for his failed policies on his shoulders.

Our school district posted their plans on the school website. We checked daily until we saw the notice. We can send our kids to school without worrying about it. We will still explain to them what happened just to keep them on top of things.

############

Ping! This is exactly it in a nutshell! I would never have a problem with a sitting potus to address the kids & bid them to do well in their studies.........my problem here is the paperwork that accompanies the speech. Things like:
1)What can you do for your Pres.
2)Have them read my books to find out about me (yeh right!)
and whatever else he tries to pass off on our children. Quite honestly, I have no desire to have our children believe that it is okay to:
1)Hate your country
2)Hang out with other America haters/terrorists
3)Be commie/marxist/socialist
4)Lie, cheat, & corrupt your way into the office of potus
5)Spit on the Consitution

...and after all this, you can still make it into the presidency.

No thank you Mr. Obumbo - keep your rhetoric for others like you!

Since the press didn’t bother to investigate Obama, and nobody is even sure if he is an American, (or from this planet for that matter), I think it is better we defer to how we would treat any suspected pervert and keep him away from the kids.

I don't mind if the President were to give a pep talk to students, be al you can be, if we had a President instead of a Pres__ent. Had he put a video out before the nation that one could assess the statement, instead of demanding live access without a view to the message. That, the administration made it a personal fealty to ZerO just emphasizes the fascist tendencies of the 0ne. A vindictive narcissistic empty suit is no role model.

This man is so stupid, blind or dishonest, he denies the context of the public’s reject of Obama’s community organizing for the Marxist cause in our public schools.

Obama has Nationalized the car industry and is trying to Nationalize the health care industry. He has used taxpayer money to buy off other corporations for favors like GE which offers him pure, dear leader adoring propaganda on NBC and MSNBC.

He has spent so much on pure Leftist political junk, he is now threatening the future of the Nation with massive deficits and debt.

He placed a self proclaimed Black Nationalist and communist into the White House.

He sat through Rev. Wright’s church for twenty years and this is not the kind of race and communist hate Americans want anywhere near their children.

He has a eugenics philosphy and has placed men with this goal into the white house. This is a mentality Obama shares with murderous characters of history like Hitler and Stalin. He is trying to put a Federal machinery in place to enact the power of eugenics through rationing in Nationalized “health care.”

He has named more than half the public “domestic terrorists” for opposing his radical agenda.

He is working against the freedom of the press within the FCC, in the name of his race so that like Chavez, he can get rid of radio programing that is anti-communist and replace it with communist sympathizers.

His followers have protrayed him in the same terms that North Korean communists gave glorified their leaders. His followers have abused children in making them sing adoring communist songs and perform military marches in dedication to their dear leader.

He said he wants a civilan youth military force, separate from the US military to help him enact his communist agenda. Participation in this brown shirt machinery would be mandatory.

He specializes in promoting rabid economic jealously and racial division.

He has admitted that he finds our constitution flawed and demonstrated he does not respect it’s check and balances on his power.

There is more, but that is enough to explain the context in which Americans find themselves now faced with Dear Leader recruiting their children for his Brown Shirt cause of Marxist hatred, oppression and slavery in the schools. His minions in the Department of Education also sent out lesson plans for this captive audience which boils down to manipulating the kids into swearing allegence to dear leader.

I don’t think one lecture from Obama is going to put our children on a life long path to Marxism-my boys would more likely get in trouble by throwing things at the tv. The problem is that this boils down to a matter of trust. No one would expose their children to a sex offender regardless of how safe the environment was or how noble the offender’s intentions might be on one particular day. Additionally, I find Obama’s message to children that they are his servants extremely inappropriate. My boys are taught loyalty to the country and its ideals (one is a Marine) and not to individuals. That’s a facist schtick, not American.

Here are our fundamental beliefs. Medical treatments should be decided upon jointly by doctor and patient. Educational lessons should be decided upon jointly by teacher and parent. In both cases we believe each party has veto authority over those plans. We also believe that the federal government should have no bearing whatsoever on either matter. Unfortunately, the government has already taken away the veto power of most parents over the education of their children by confiscating the money they could use to pay for tuition and providing single payer school systems. The recent poor results of SAT/ACT test results as published in the Wall Street Journal show this system to be radically inadequate. We similarly reject calls for a single payer health care system in fear of similar results.
