In 1805, there was a conflict in the Mediterranean Sea, and the Navy, as a 30-year-old service at the time, Just a "little conflict", but I guess they thought it not PC to mention that the conflict was with Muslim Pirates/Slavers, acting under the authority of the local governments. that Muslim pirates considered Americans to be infidels and they believed they simply had the right to plunder American ships.
