Nobody’s perfect. But I do try to remain cordial with those I disagree with so long as they show me the same respect. But if they start calling Creation/ID scientists flat earthers, or Luddites, or cretins, etc, then they will probably find that they bit off a little more than they originally anticipated.

As for your question, the Bible is very clear, there is a very real battle (no matter how imperfect our understanding of it) going on between good and evil. And the Bible is very clear that God-denying evo-atheists are on the side of evil...and the Bible is just as harsh towards their contingent of fellow travelers who should know better, but instead persecute those who bear witness to the truth. If you want to call that extremist, then your argument is with Holy Scripture, not me.

Another perfect example of why young adults steer clear of the GOP.

I have taught and known many young adults for many decades, so explain your claim and your lament.

Let's see if you have any substance.

Give us a few more 'perfect' examples of why young adults steer clear of the GOP.

What is it with the Evos and their constant drumbeat about biblical creationists supposedly persecuting those poor, defenseless, one billion strong Catholics. Is this part of some sort of Evo wedge strategy? Doesn't Mr. Socialist realize that many biblical creationists are in fact CATHOLIC! What is it with these people???

Heh, he doesn’t exactly seem to have the whole gentleman thing down yet.

Who knows, if he can manage to grow enough skin to participate without resorting to spit wads, he just might learn something useful.

I have my suspicions, but I’m willing to give him a small benefit of the doubt for now and see what he wants to make of it.

Stay frosty!

Im not the one posting that Catholics are not real Christians. Id suggest taking a look at your posting history to discern who made that claim. You are the one who is divisive, not me. I like a good debate as anybody else. But you have repeatedly shut down rational arguments with name calling, such as “Mr. Socialist”. Why not debate the merits of the argument instead?

When did I post that Catholics aren’t real Christians? I have been falsely accused of that many times by evo-atheist FReepers, most of whom are now banned for one reason or another. Where did you get this notion, Mr. Retread???

“But just so you know the judeo-christian world is not fundamentalist by and large, and these articles, like it or not, do nothing to add to the ranks of like minded conservatives.” [excerpt]
Whatever.

“They just divide us. And im not even Catholic, but …” [excerpt]
I'm not Catholic and the Vatican does not speak for me.

However, just because I disagree with considerable portions of their theology, doesn't mean I can't agree with them on common ground issues like the sanctity of human life.

Instead of complaining about divisions (real or imagined), wouldn't your efforts be better spent in civil debate and trying to pull people together on common ground issues?

Tell me, do you believe that mankind was created?

You have denounced the Vatican in previous threads youve posted, suggesting Catholics are not Christians. Unless you are now agreeing with the Vatican in condemning the literal interpretation of the Bible. Are you agreeing now with the Vatican?

Sure it was created. Pulling people together is what is needed. Too bad articles like this which you obviously support, do the exact different thing. They divide us.

The last time I can think of having to joust with an Evo-atheist trying hide behind the Catholic church was before you were a member. And I certainly wasn’t denouncing the Catholic church, but rather registering my disagreement re: creation/evolution. Again, where did you get this notion, Mr. Retread? And why are you constantly accusing me, to include the first time we ever crossed paths under your new screenname? Are you perhaps picking up where you left off the last time you got banned from FR???

You can be threatening all you like. This is the first time Ive ever signed up, although Ive been a lurker for many years. There are dozens of people who dont agree with you, so you may be confusing yourself. I was interested in science articles, came accross something you posted under the science keyword, and its been you throwing insult after insult evern since.

You can always tell true scientists, because they only use CLEVER childish names in their juvenile namecalling rants.

Of course, even children usually come up with new names from time to time.

You are well past the “cute juvenile” phase.

Exactly.

Looks like socialismislost, the newb, is joining the persecuted Catholics drumbeat and trying to cause further division.

There is no reason to turn crevo threads into divisive sectarian issues.

It's just a new tactic by the evos to change the subject and get off topic so they don't have to answer for why they're losing the debate.

Since they can't defend their theory much any more, this is what they resort to.

Welcome to FR, newb.

It's an old tactic: Call someone a bigot, etc. and then demand they prove otherwise. But of course, no amount of so-called “proof” will ever be enough. a.k.a., Prove you aren't guilty of thought crimes!

Id suggest taking a look at your posting history to discern who made that claim.

Why are you posting like a seasoned FReeper?

What was your previous screen name?

“Pulling people together is what is needed. Too bad articles like this which you obviously support, do the exact different thing. They divide us.” [excerpt]
Pulling people together by stiffening debate is an effort that is bound to fail.

The best way to pull people together is to find a common ground where you can agree, and to respectfully disagree where you cannot.

Often to be a conservative means being the adult in a heard of teenagers, but it comes with the territory.

The only thing that can divide a group of people is that which they allow to divide them.
