Van Jones, Barack Obama's Green Czar, was part of the organizing committee for a leftist effort to undermine the United States in the war on terror just months after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Jones signed a statement by the organizing committee in early January 2002 accusing the United States of having "mercilessly bombed Afghanistan" in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks by al Qaeda, which at the time was being protected by Afghanistan's Taliban-led government.
The statement, found on Rense.com, is part of an appeal for funds to start a bi-weekly newspaper dedicated to undermining the United States in the war on terror and to push "social justice" and the green movement.

WAR TIMES (working title) A New, Biweekly, Tabloid Newspaper Opposing the "War on Terrorism"
The terrorist attacks of September 11 marked the beginning of a new and frightening period in our history. Thousands of people died that day, and their families along with the country as a whole are still struggling to recover. But President Bush's response of "permanent war against terrorism at home and abroad" has further endangered the lives and liberties of millions of people everywhere.
The world's most powerful nation has mercilessly bombed Afghanistan and is installing a neo-colonial government of its own choosing, although that country has never attacked the U.S. Millions of Afghans have been displaced and face starvation this winter. The administration has also green-lighted massive Israeli assaults on Palestine, and it threatens to attack Iraq, Lebanon, Somalia, and other countries. The agenda seems clear: to remake the world in the rightwing image with little regard for human consequences.

Peace, safety, and justice at home are more than ever linked to peace and justice abroad. To end the "permanent war," we need to build a mass movement against U.S. interventions abroad and link to it the struggles for social justice. The security and livelihood of people across the globe depend on success in this fight.

Content: The tabloid will present a view of the world that makes opposition to Bush's program urgent, vivid, and logical. To do so, it will be designed with an artistic sense, using photos, cartoons, and other graphic elements throughout. Overall, it must be popular, attractive, have flair, and utilize humor and poetry as well as information and analysis. It will be bilingual at least in part, beginning with Spanish.
The tabloid is intended to track the development of the war at home and abroad, spotlighting the dire consequences of Bush's program for human beings and the earth. It will provide backgrounders, facts, and clear, readable analysis. It will report on the work of the developing peace and justice movement as well as anti-racist struggles, thus providing an important representation of the possibility, vitality, and importance of opposition. Articles will be based on reliable and widely accepted information sources, both domestic and international.

...if not by the close of business today!
Democrats don’t throw underlings overboard for the sharks the way Republicans do.
They just pretend the sharks aren’t there. And slash their tires, murder their cats, etc.
Well, now we have something new for Glenn Beck to talk about. Particularly after White House denials that Van Jones was “really” a 9/11 “Truther”. Him being part of the organizing committee makes that WH statement “inoperable”.
tried to say that they only wanted to go after the real killers, a la OJ. >p> No, they simply didn't want America defended, or her enemies attacked.

Sounds oddly familiar...as though it was the seed idea for the NEA conference call that Beck exposed on Wednesday..
Who is Vanessa?
Great find. bttt !!
Another tid-bit to add to the mix:
Van Jones Supports Davey D for FCC

At about 20 minutes into this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2z6nOOO-2Y, Van Jones advocates that Davey D be on the FCC.
Davey D’s website is here http://www.daveyd.com/. He conducted a talk-radio show interview in 2002 here http://www.daveyd.com/bootsonthewarpolitics.html in which many callers and his guest made many anti-American statements. At the end of the show Davey D stated:
“Davey D: I would just add that anyone who has what we may consider an informed perspective step it up a notch and involve themselves in these on going discussions by writing letters to the editors, calling up local radio talk shows and tv stations and basically do whatever it takes to keep these perspectives out there so people don’t fall prey to only what is being handed down by mass media. We can’t allow corporations to define our conversations and agenda.... Boots any last comments.” (Emphasis added.)
How is it that it took Glenn Beck to unearth this guy’s background? Doesn’t the FBI vet these people?
Where is the mainstream media? Are we now at a point where we have to look to political commentators for news?
What IS going on?

Obama made very similar comments during the early days in Afganistan.
It’s hard out here for a radical.
So many grants, orgs, boards, offices, petitions, protests, ‘vigils’, fed funds, it’s hard to keep up.
Yep, hard work creating a divisive utopia. /s

Zero has COMPLETELY bypassed the proper vetting process for these nuts.
Strange; would someone call the Washington Post and tell them about Van Jones? They seem to have missed the story, at least it is not on the front page of their online edition. They did have space earlier this month for THREE articles on their first page about the Virginia Republican gubrenatiorial candidate’s college thesis from more than 20 years ago (someone felt OUTRAGE about it). But no space for an aritcle about a self-proclaimed America-hating Marxist who serves as the “czar” of US environmental policy.
Their logic is that nothing any of them said matters because it was in the “past”. It’s frustrating that the MSM doesn’t think Jones’ background is newsworthy. Again, obama gets a pass on his radical associations. Jones’ appointment came from the WH so it’s quite a stretch to expect us to believe that obama knew nothing of his past. He obviously agrees with his philosophy if he appointed him.
