It is interesting to me -some of the other Fox ppl let him do all the work and pick up the story a day or two later...

Local paper contacted me for my thoughts on Sept 8th....(I am also joining a local talk show host tomorrow morning on the issue)....
this is what I wrote back to the paper...
I have 2 daughters who attend _______ Elementary School, grades 3 and 5. I am married. I do not work.
I do not support President Obama’s address to children through government schools.
1) I do not allow polticians access to my children without me being present, regardless of office held or party affiliation.
2) Talking to my children about their personal educational goals is my job as a parent, not the job of government employees. If a teacher were to do this, they should ask parents to join in such a project.
3) Many of the people this President surrounds himself with are also people I would not allow to have access to my children; such as Reverend Wright, Cass Sustein, Van Jones, Jeff Jones, Jeff Immelt, Carol Browner, Rahm Emmanuel nor his brother, William Ayers, Daschle, and the list goes on. The President has a long history of surrounding himself with mentors and friends with very anti-American views. I will not allow him to build a relationship with my children in anyway.
4) If the President were sincere in his efforts, he can do a public service announcement and air it on the Disney Channel, or PBS, or offer his speech via the internet where parents can view beforehand, and then with their children, if they so choose.
5) The files passed to schools for teachers to use in conjunction with this speech are extremely offensive to parental rights and duties. The office of Presidency is to serve the people of this nation, not to target our children for “help.”
6) For the Record, I would not allow my child to participate in this kind of speech from President G W Bush either.
Now here is the REAL kicker. During our school’s “Meet and Greet” for parents with teachers, I approached their teachers to offer coming in to do my workshop and hand out a copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution to each student. One teacher actually told me that I wanted to speak to the class on history, I could do so; however, I would have to speak only of history from the Civil War to the present because earlier American history is not part of this years curriculum. I have been very tempted to challenge her on participating in this class project and asking where this Presidential speech was in the curriculum. I garauntee her students (and her) believe the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th of 1776. This is impossible, most actually signed it in August.

Heaven forbid a parent volunteer some time to hand out our founding documents to our students and teach them a few facts that they have been misinformed on. But a day to read books about Obama and think about what they can do to “help” him seems just fine. I still remember the news stories of teacher being forced to remove a picture of President Bush from their classrooms. Hayes Elementary School’s motto is “Yes We Can”- Obama’s campaign slogan for Pete’s sake. The irony and hypocrisy is beyond acceptable.
I know this is more than a few sentences, but better for you to have more material to pick from. If you still want to include any of my thoughts.

....so okay, on 9/16/09 I will attend my first meeting as...drumroll...a member of the newspaper advisory for the Sussex Countian newspaper.
Have no idea why I was asked to “serve” but sounds like right up my alley. I have been intereviewed by this paper a couple of times, had a few editorials published. I teach writing at the local yokel night school.
Well maybe that’s why they asked me. I was front page as a Blogger way before blogging was cool, insert wink here.
But a newspaper oversight board? Heh. Right up my alley.
So did y’all hear that Van Jones, Glen Beck’s buddy, IS A TRUTHER? Further, he called Republicans ASSHOLES and he had to apologize.
Again, I ask, silly me...WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS????
Why aren’t they holding news conferences, ask Harry Reid how to do it he knows how? Why aren’t they announcing the emergency at hand for this news conference that the President has just appointed a czar of green jobs who thinks Bush and Cheney orchestrated 9/11 and called us, the loyal opposition party always on top of things like this news conference right now...assholes?
Heh.
Instead this past week we get lame McCain on Face the Nation agreeing that hell yeah we gotta go after those folks in the CIA for keeping us safe for eight years.
Maybe they could draft a letter to the Wall Street Journal over this Van Jones guy....hey, I’d write it for them, maybe put a copy in the Sussex Countian.

Folks, we gotta throw every damn one of them outta there. I’m thinking of running for an office here in the swamps of Delaware myself now that I’m in charge of oversight of the biggest newspaper.
Get them out of the tanning booths and send them home.
I did hear someone yesterday, Laura Ingraham I think was rattling on about Van Jones and it sounded like an exact copy of what Glenn had said the nite before, I guess Glenn did show prep for her, and you’re right he’s the only one exposing these communists for what they are,, I just hope Glenn and his family stay safe.
