National debt you say?

No problem, the golden one has that covered for us too. He is infusing all sorts of new Capital and money into the economy.

El Jeffe,

Have you seen this:

Subject: Clunker Math

“Here’s some math from your stories that the average clunker got 15 mpg and the average replacement gets 25… ·

A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a year of gasoline. ·

A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a year. ·

So, an average clunker transaction reduces U.S. gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year. ·

The total is about 700,000 vehicles – so that’s 224 million gallons / year. ·

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil. ·

5 million barrels of oil is about ¼ of one day’s U.S. consumption. ·

And, 5 million barrels of oil costs about $350 million dollars at $75/bbl. ·

So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.

How good a deal was that???”

And that doesn't take into account the loss of revenue for the aftermarket parts and repair industry that just lost those potential 700,000 vehicles to the junkyard. Nor the energy savings of recycling those parts through the re-manufacturing industry

Wow -

Jen: Why don’t we borrow $trillion?
Stark: We probably shouldn’t but we inevitably will.

When was this recorded?

Pete Stark is an imbecilic, wise-a$$ed, know-nothing, socialist. How dare he make fun of Jan’s college education!

That was astounding but not surprising.
Anyone who votes for this Stark guy should turn all their money over to the gov’t immediately.

If people like this stay in power we deserve what we get.

Jan did a good job and didn’t need that idiot to try speak down to him.

Stark was so marvelously condescending in his patrician wrongheadedness. The more you borrow, the richer you are. Right...

Amazing how fast we went from borrowing hundreds of billions to multiple trillions. What comes after trillion? At this rate we’ll blow through that range before the end of Obama’s term.

So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.

So in 12+ years (not going to figure out the interest on the debt), it'll break even*. Kind of like a hybrid car, which takes 9-10 years to save enough to merit paying for the hybrid tech.

*Even? Right. Just shifted 700,000 car owner's expenses to 75 Million net tax payers, and hurt 700,000 potential used car buyers. FUBO!

Aw, come on N. That’s not fair. If everyone keeps that car for nine years we’ll have saved $3.1 billion — break even!

(What about the interest we are paying on that borrowed money? And lost revenue from the car parts? And the increased price we now have to pay for the used cars that are left because they are in short supply?)

(Ssssshhhhh..... Stupid conservative mob member!)

Now, don’t you feel all warm and patriotic? (Or did I just pee my pants?)

Wikipedia says Pete Stark is the only U.S. Congressman from Hayward, California that openely declares ATHEIST as ‘his’ religion of choice.
