Dutch to prosecute Arabs over Holocaust cartoon

AMSTERDAM – Dutch prosecutors said Wednesday they will charge an Arab cultural group under hate speech laws for publishing a cartoon that suggests the death of 6 million Jews during World War II is a fabrication.

The public prosecutor's office in the city of Utrecht said the cartoon insults Jews as a group and is therefore an illegal form of discrimination.

Prosecutors plan to press charges for "insulting a group and distributing an insulting image."

Spokeswoman Mary Hallebeek said the maximum punishment is a year in jail, but a fine of up to euro4,700 ($6,700) is more likely, given that the charges are against the group.

The Dutch arm of the Arab European League said it doesn't deny the reality of the Holocaust, but published the cartoon on its Web site as an "act of civil disobedience" to highlight a double standard.

Just deport them. And Dutchies vote in Geert Wilders.

Abe Foxman of the facist Anti Defmation League of frauds who opposed Geert can go to hell.

I think the ADL is a tax scam like Elie Weisel Holocaust group. Elie shills for Obama and lost everything to Bernie is a tax scam “foundation.”

So no “Bushitler” or “Chimpy McPresident” images were published there in the past 8 years?

I doubt it, didn’t an ad firm over there win the MoveOn.org “design an anti-Bush ad” in the 2004 campaign?

The concept of "hate speech" is completely at odds with the principle of free speech. Europe and the liberals here simply don't value free speech very highly.

How many nuns are they willing to sacrifice prosecuting these terrorists? As soon as the prosecution starts, muslims the world over will begin ‘protesting’ by murdering Christians, nuns, priest, Rabbis etc

And at some point we’ll all get fed up and Nuke Mecca and lash out as well. Christians and Jews can get together and fight this out once and for all. I am sure I am not the only one itching for a fight.

You’re not. That said though, I can understand why political figures don’t come out & say “screw islam, it’s a religion of death”, because waging war on a 6th of the world is just not an expedient thing to do.

That said, the people need to know that islam is a religion of death, and there will be no peace until either we or it is destroyed, despite the fact that our politicians cannot say it.

To be honest, we need to deal with it another way. I am very interested in the idea that Muhomo believed that it was an evil spirit who told him about Islam, but his wife convinced him it was not evil. Perhaps a way forward with muslims is to push the idea that “muhomo was right, his wife was wrong”. They hate women so much, it might strike a chord.

I love them standing up to the Muslims, but not this way. Europe has a problem with freedom of speech. You don’t have it if they don’t like what you say.

You are quite brilliant about your mind game idea. You should work for our intelligence network. I think the one thing to remember about what you are taught is where it leads you. Does it lead you to an honest life or does it lead you to jail and the street.

Ya think? We need to get more moderate Muslims (not sure how many this is - 50% - more, less?) that will redefine Islam away from the radicals. They must shoulder a good part of that load - along with many other pluralistic societies - beyond just the US.

When will those European (France, England, et al) countries wake up and smell the fires burning under their own noses?

125 years ago Islam was, sort of, dormant. Why? For one thing, people didn’t take the jihad idea to mean killing all infidels - or at least they didn’t take the more outrageous teachings and ‘implement’ them like we’re seeing now. They were moderated by reality (’the rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous’ - common grace) and perhaps humanity.

I think many Muslims now are in bunker mode - ‘believe or die!’ the ‘faithful’ howl. The moderates have given up on whatever cause those moderate Muslims of the past century, they may have had.

We could really stand to see a return to ‘moderate’ or ‘cultural’ Islam.

Radical Christianity can often imply very positive behavioral changes - getting radically saved implies leaving the old life of sin completely and pursuing holiness of God - the piety of the old Christian saints - with passion.

Radical Islam almost never implies such positive behaviors. You don’t hear about the radical salvation of a Muslim who then dedicates his life to the poor. No, but you do hear about how he killed 123 people in the name of Islam. That’s supposed to be highly pious for a Muslim.

It’s quite a sick and twisted version of piety and salvation.

“125 years ago Islam was, sort of, dormant. Why?”

I would say just because Europeans were completely dominant with the industrial revolution fuelling undefeatable armies.

And they didn’t have access to the asymmetrical methods that they do now.

And they didn’t have mass communications: everyone was a lot more laid back 125 years ago.
