“Lord, there is no one like You to help the
powerless against the mighty. Help us, O Lord
our God, for we rely on You, and in Your name
we have come against this vast army. O Lord,
You are our God; do not let man prevail against
You.” (2Chronicles 14:11)Read More

From yesterday's thread:

I really disagree with the designation of "Comrade", but I've been virtually told off. I have NEVER heard Glenn Beck use it and it is very offensive to someone like me who lived through the cold war.

It's a form of address and that means "communist" according to Merriam Webster.

What do all of you think? It's the communist definition that I don't like! And it is one of the definitions according to Merriam Webster dictionary.

Merriam Webster definition of comrade:

  • Main Entry: com·rade
  • Pronunciation: \ˈkäm-ˌrad, -rəd, especially British -ˌrād\
  • Function: noun
  • Etymology: Middle French camarade group sleeping in one room, roommate, companion, from Old Spanish camarada, from cámara room, from Late Latin camera, camara — more at chamber
  • Date: 1544

1 a : an intimate friend or associate : companion b : a fellow soldier
2 [from its use as a form of address by communists] : communist
