Quinnipiac has an outstanding track record in New Jersey. Their new poll shows Christie's lead has increased since early August, despite Corzine's massive negative assault on his Republican opponent.

I just have a hard time believing a Democrat can be beaten in this race.

As I recall, Democrats in New Jersey always do better than the polls leading up to an election. I assume this is due to the fact that pollsters don’t poll the dead and only poll the same person once, policies that are totally at odds with standard operating procedures in NJ.

Yeah, Q has a decent record. Either way, the R leads by 5 points or 10 points, which ain’t good news for the D.

CNN = Communist New Network

HARDLY unbiased. And the fact that they merely ACKNOWLEDGE a lead for Christie looks bad for Curswine.

So does their acknowledgement of Obama’s drop and the Dem’s drop.

Raasmussen presents a much BETTER picture for America and the GOP and worse for Obama.

Recent 5-7 point loss for Christie - he has been tied to Karl Rove.

I think Christie’s lead is almost entirely due to Corzine’s incredibly bad polling numbers (they’re getting worse not better despite the millions he’s spent on radio, tv and print) and the worsening economy. I don’t think New Jersey voters love Christie, they just hate Corzine. Same situation as 1993, we won that year.

“Recent 5-7 point loss for Christie - he has been tied to Karl Rove.”

Not true, Quinnipiac shows a larger Christie lead (10 points) from earlier this month.

I agree.

Curswine is just too incompetent for even the Jersey voters to tolerate.

I haven’t seen a single positive Corzine tv ad, I’m sure there are some, but the negative ones grossly outnumber the positive ones. A friend of mine in Bergen County told me most of his neighbors are voting for Christie, not because they really like him but because they really hate Corzine.

My wife got the poll phone call from Quinnipiac on Sunday evening. She had the young girl (pollster) laughing so hard they had to stop twice so she could get her composure together.

The best was: "Which candidate would you rather spend a day out with such as a pro football game or day at the beach (paraphrased)?" Chris Christie or Jon Corzine? I was in the dining room when my wife replied: "Neither - I don't go out with politicians. They're all liars and cheats."

Gosh, I love that women. ;-)

Rasmussen has Christie leading 47-36. When Rasmussen includes leaners, Christie leads 50-42.

The Jersey is largely a referundum on Corzine. The Goldman Sachs Man’s approval ratings are close to Bush levels.

I loathe Corzine, and it looks like a clear majority of New Jersey voters do too.

Being a former inmate of New Jersey, no election is over until it’s OVER.

The Dems control the major cities, where the vote fraud is rampant and significant. This is the state that perfected the art of “walking around money” to buy votes on Election Day.

NJ only has less than 8 million people, but a budget of $ 32 billion. Like I used to tell my fellow inmates—you do the math. And that doesn’t count the cost of county, town and school budgets on top of that.

I truly wish that NJ can shake off Corzine and the Dems, but they will not go away easily. And a RINO like Christie better have the stomach for a knockdown dragout fight to the end, because the silly season in NJ politics is just about to begin.

I’ve seen the pattern too many times to be overconfident this early. Two months is an eternity in NJ politics especially. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
