he’s 85 years old for crying out loud........he should spend each day as HE wishes, not running off to the funeral of a drunken sot shows good taste.

Are you really accusing President Bush (43) of being a NE elite?

Possible. The man’s 85 years old, his time is getting shorter too. I don’t blame him; he can do or not do whatever he wants. He’s earned that right.
Still, GWB will be outnumbered 3:1. Oh well, I’m not watching it anyway.
All this dynasty talk: The Bushes have done much better than the Kennedys could ever dream of! 3 Presidents (Franklin Pierce plus the 2 Bushes), 2 governors, 1 senator. They are the REAL dynasty, not the Kennedys.

So he tried to get along with people, perhaps thinking you could do more with sugar than vinegar like many of our parents told us ....woooooo.... guilty as charged.

I wonder how Carter REALLY feels about Ted. Ted was actively working against him, behind his back. Tried to sabotage hi nomination, if any former living President should hate the guy, it would be him.

George Herbert Walker Bush is a fifth cousin four times removed of Franklin Pierce. Barbara Bush's maiden name was Pierce and she is also related to Franklin Pierce (but not a direct descendant as The New York Times has asserted--none of Franklin Pierce's children survived long enough to have children). The Presidents Bush are also more distantly related to Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and Gerald Ford.

And I don't blame him a bit for not showing up for a former drunken sot. I suppose that's why the former drunken sot of a son should go, birds of a feather and all ... BTW, I agree that 41 is showing the class and good taste, not 43!
