Shouting match between FR riders and cagers in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .
Fer shur ... the jackass quotient on this thread is guaranteed to be high.
Bicyclists have a right to use the roads, and should be given a decent leeway when passing them. If the passing can’t be done in a safe manner immediately, then the driver should wait behind the cyclists until it is safe to do so.
Having said that, the road is not a closed bicycle racing course. Riding in a peleton on the road is not safe, or legal. I don’t think that even two bicycles should be riding side by side in most places, but if the law allows it then they’re within their rights to do so. I know that where I live the law requires bicyclists to ride as far to the right as is feasible, in recognition of the fact that while they are vehicles, they are slow, narrow vehicles which will get passed.
Personally I try to give riders lots of room when passing them, and in return expect them to make reasonable efforts not to impede the flow of traffic. There do seem to be a lot of cyclists who are self-righteous douchebags, though.
"cagers"...LOL. Never quite got that insult. My cage has 400hp, goes 180mph and slides sideways pretty nicely at 100; try that on a Cannondale. Or a Hog.
Bicyclists rarely, if ever, pay attention to traffic laws, which is fine - but then don't act all miffed because I didn't give up 7 ft of clearance.
And don't get me started on m/c riders that travel slower than traffic; unless you're in a pack with a 1%er biker gang, nobody on two wheels with a motor should be holding up grandma's Camry.
A mob’s a mob.
