As a word of unsolicited and likely unappreciated advice: You are doing exactly what you are complaining about the others. Generalizing. And refusing to listen to (I'm not saying agree with, only listen to) what they have to say. You may be 100% right. But using insults and calling names will never get anyone on your side. Right. And they’re not considering ANY imputed interest income on the investment. But I don’t believe it anyway. People get a little over 1000 a month MAX from SSI, and I’m sure I’ve paid in several hundred thousand dollars over the course of my career. Oh, and it ISN’T a welfare program, if you didn’t work, and/or you didn’t have a spouse who worked, you don’t get it.

Actually, I probably wouldn’t mind it, since I’ve paid max FICA for the last several years. So, as you can take care of yourself, will you be tearing up the SS check when it comes?
