WASHINGTON -- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, said Sunday that the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated but the commanding general on the ground has not yet asked for more troops.

Speaking on CNN's "State of the Union," Adm. Mullen said the situation in the country has been getting worse as the Taliban gains strength. "I've said that over the last couple of years, that the Taliban insurgency has gotten better, more sophisticated," he said. "Their tactics just in my recent visits out there and talking with our troops certainly indicate that."

Our enemy is energized by weak Obama.

They know he won't do anything.

Stanley McChrystal, is still completing an assessment of his needs in the theater

Well, take your time, jackass.

We've only been there for 8 years.

Mullen the problem isn’t more sophisticated Taliban tactics. The problem is having to read them miranda rights before we shoot them.

Well, we have to “win their hearts and minds”, you see, no matter how many troops we lose or imprison for failing to memorize ‘Rules of Engagement - Vol 48’.

Perhaps they should reinstate Bush’ Rules of Engagement. Our guys need to be able to win this war rather than be targets.

Pray for America and Our Troops

It was obvious the world would be less secure with a Democrat in charge, the only thing secure will be the Democrat’s ACORNS stuffing the ballet boxes and early voting, a secure re-election of incompetence

"zero" is preparing Americans for a non-victory in afghanistan, just like vietnam. He recently said not to look for emperor hirohito signing a surrender on a US ship. (Not that he did but our "smartest" president seems to be historically challenged.) Also said that he's not sure what victory would look like.

This increase in attacks and the highest US death toll of the war came directly after "zero's" new ROE, not to pursue or engage the enemy if there was a chance of injuring "civilians".

“We're not at a point yet where he's made any decisions about asking for additional troops. His guidance from me and from the secretary of defense was to go out, assess where you are and tell us what you need. And we'll get to that point.”

Which is it Admiral Mullen? Our esteemed National Security Advisor (used to be Marine Corps Commandant and then whored himself out) told a round table of commanders and general officers in Afghanistan that if they ask for more troops President Obama is going to be like “WTF”. So is the Chairman now saying that the Obama admin policy is going to be to let our commanders lead or is he (Obama) with all of his operational experience going to “WTF” their requests for more resources.

My nephew is about to head back over there, I hope he has lots of whatever he needs so he comes back to his children. The concept of using overwhelming force instead of sending guys out like some Foreign Legion troops in a bad movie sounds real good to me.

The correctly smell incompetance. Seems the taliban is a better judge of character than the dimrat party. Nice.

The thing about the Ci-cago gang is that they only knows how to make war on Americans. Send Rahm Emanuel and Axelrod in, backed by George Soros and the ACORN squads.
