President Obama: Holier Than Thou

President Obama: Holier Than Thou Obama tries to spark the religious left By ROBERT A. GEORGE Updated 2:00 PM EDT, Thu, Aug 20, 2009

One of George W. Bush's earliest controversial policies was the creation of an "Office of Faith-Based Initiatives. During the 2000 campaign, Bush argued that church-connected and faith-based non-profits were ideal allies in delivering certain social welfare policies.

From the start, liberal organizations -- and much of the media -- argued that such an office opened the door for conflicts between church and state -- especially if the federal government was playing favorites in determining who should and should not get federal aid. This tension continued throughout the Bush administration, including during the 2006 mid-term elections. Bush would resort to scripture and other religious rhetoric to underscore his broader points:

During the March 9 speech, Bush again used anecdotes to support his claim that faith-based groups are more effective than secular ones. Lifting a phrase from the hymn "Amazing Grace," he singled out Matt Enriquez, a former drug addict who attended a fundamentalist Christian Bible study program called Teen Challenge.

Noted Bush, "He was lost -- and then he was found by the people at Teen Challenge. He is now going to college."

Bush later said, "Matt is living proof. America changes not only when a soul like Matt gets saved, but the person who is involved with helping Matt also becomes a stronger and better citizen, as well."

This sort of language sent many Bush critics into conniptions.

So, will there be similar outrage if President Obama does the same?

No, becaue Bush really meant it and BO is just using the idea for his own gain and purposes, not God's.

Good one!!!!!! We had an ASW drill one time, out of San Diego. We were supposed to pick up the USS Salmon and run drills. We located her and tracked her for hours. To our surprise, the Salmon came sailing out of San Diego. We had no idea who we were tracking for the last few hours. They sent out another squad of Destroyers and we tracked that sub for over two days. Then, out of the blue, the sub disappeared. Never saw it again......and I was dam good. Even the ASW carrier, planes and choppers couldn’t locate it again. I considered shore duty.

My first system was the AN/SQS-23 on a Leahy Class cruiser.

0bama's brother, George Hussein Onyango Obama, lives on one dollar per month in a shanty town near Nairobi, Kenya. Barack visited him once. George has never heard from him again.

Boy....it was 50 years ago that I was in Sonar. Don’t remember the system. All I know is that it kept breaking down on us. Constant repair.

Obama misses the fact that he is the man. In Alinksy terms, he is the target. No more can he spew platitudes and expect to be disassociated from his words. He tries to say, “This is not about me.” But it IS about him. He is the embodiment of his positions and the target of his enemies. Ande he can not handle it.

Our system was dependable if kind of long in the tooth by the 80’s. It really did not matter, as subs knew where we were looooong before we knew where they were.

Yeah I know but when we did find them.....we could make a whole lot of noice. Even if we didn’t get them, we could blow up a whole lot of water. If I recomember right, Germany lost most of their sub fleet to our Destroyers.

Yeah, but the balance of power shifted to the sub with nuke power and sound dampening technology.

Yep, he’s too inexperienced to transition from community organizer to executive. Bubba Clinton had twelve years in the Arkansas state house to get a feel for the reigns of power. Zer0 has had zero preparation.
