"The guy’s toast as far as his agenda is concerned. "

Don't be so fast to count him out.

He ain't about to grow a conscience and throw in the towel.

He ain't about to humble himself before God, let alone man.

He still has the media monopoly, the teacher monopoly, the union monopoly, the evil manipulators Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod and George Soros' almost limitless fortune behind him.

One thing the Devil doesn't do is give in to righteousness.

And you better believe the Devil is on their side.

Hope we don't get our hopes up too high that the health care crap by King Obama will not pass. It will. Sooner or later nothing will stop the communists party from completely destroying America. The Constitution means nothing and has not for many years. Many Americans are weak and so mentally ill that they couldn’t see the storm until it passes over and destroys everything in it's path. And all the dumb will do is just suck their thumbs and sigh.

Frankly, I'm surprised that the Dems are surprised. They ran into this same problem in '93 and learned nothing from it. Hillary and her panel of "experts" produced a similar monstrosity, slapped it down before the public and said "Here it is. No discussion, take it or leave it, and oh, by the way, leaving it isn't an option." And then they, too, professed amazement when an ungrateful public didn't start kowtowing.

Yes, of course 0bama has no real political antecedents of note and is vastly inexperienced in the nuances of practical politics. But surely somebody on his staff was around then and aware where the mines were buried? Anybody? Bueller?

Don't be so fast to count him out.

True, the downside to this is that it is occurring well before the 2010 elections. The Dems still have time to sucker a few RINOs into a compromise, Snowe, Collins, McCain, and get something passed. What we need is a movement with legs that keeps people PO's thru 2010 and into 2012 so we can clean house.

“Please...not trying to be terse here, but Obizmal misread nothing...he is under strict mandate of operation by George Soros.”

RIGHT!

“Soros, financial nation killer that he is, has done the misreading this time. We are the leader of the world and he hates us for it...Thank God we were established under GOD!”

RIGHT!

“Monica Crowley is not one I would accuse of being in the tank for Obama.”

100% CORRECT!! I watch her [I think] last week with O’Reilly and she was very tough.

There was a bar I used to hang out at called the “HA HA” Bar. Back when I was too young for comfort.

But surely somebody on his staff was around then and aware where the mines were buried?

Apparently, Daschle and some others did an in-depth analysis of what went wrong and advised Obama on how to get health care through. Obama was told Hillary's plan defined all the details - and that gave opponents something to focus on - so Obama should remain vague. Also, he was told that Hillary's proposal was given too much time to go through - so Obama should try to rush it through before opposition had time to get organized. Also, Daschle identified the chief opponents of Hillary care - like drug companies, the health insurance industry, the doctors, etc. - and Obama was advised to neutralize them, which Obama attempted to do with the leaders of these groups.

The trouble with Daschle's analysis was that he doesn't understand that something more than sly political trickery is required to impose a change of such magnitude and importance on the American people. He didn't pay any attention to the substance or ramifications of the legislation, or the economic context (massive debt and recession), or the political heritage of this country.

Outstanding analysis, and I thank you. I think you've put your finger on the differences in the political climate between '93 and now, especially with respect to the economy.

I'm a bit surprised and pleased at the grass-roots nature of the resistance and how little amenable it appears to be (up to now) to organized pressure from the media. Sarah Palin dropping bombs from Facebook, of all places, seems quite outside any assumptions Daschle and the others were working from.

I get the sense that the Dems are going to try to force the matter. It is, after all, their self-proclaimed flagship issue, and even if they lose in 2010 they still have 0bama to veto any measures a slender Republican majority in either house might manage to pass to oppose the juggernaut. And 2012 is still a long way away.
