BAGHDAD – U.S.-backed Iraqi troops seized a launcher loaded with more than a dozen Iranian-made rockets and detained three suspected militants after an attack against the American base outside the southern city of Basra, officials said Tuesday.

Col. Karim al-Zaidi said the missiles were found in an eastern section of Iraq's second largest city after rockets targeted the U.S. base Monday evening.

The militants have more than just the US as targets.

File photo shows Iraqi men walking past a poster of Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr in the southern city of Amara in the Maysan province, south of Baghdad. Iraqi militias are increasingly torturing and executing men suspected of homosexuality but the authorities in Baghdad are doing nothing to stop the violence, Human Rights Watch has said. It is no secret that many mortar shells and rockets that hit Balad and FOB McHenry during the summer of 2005 came from iran as evidenced from examination of their shrapnel. One piece of shrapnel hit my bicycle wrecking the shift mechanism Those Bastards!!
