MoveOn.org is hosting an event at the Andy Warhol Museum to salute graphic artist Shepard Fairey, who created the Obama "Hope" poster. The artist was busy today working on an installation across the street from the museum.

I work next door to the Warhol Museum and watched this week as they put this "art" up on the Rosa Villa.
Obama will host an event at the museum for the G20 and I will be out of work for 3 days. I talked to one of the museum employees yesterday and they said the Obama's are driving them nuts with requirements. And the Secret Service is driving them even more nuts.
I'm just pissed that I won't be billing my outrageous fees for three days because Pittsburgh decided it would be a good idea to host the G20 summit.
Thought it was about Shep Smith.. the Fox news fairy.

It ALMOST makes sense for the Warhol Museum to celebrate Fairey. (A)his art ripped off the merchandised art schemes of Warhol himself, but (B)he was in part responsible for giving this nation our first “15 minute celebrity” president.
Propaganda and nothing but. A triumph of the swill. Marketing over substance.
The man is clearly not ready for prime time. Before long even Bush’s detractors will have to admit that he’s making Bush look better than Obama in all areas (including dealing with the opposition).
Shepard Fairey was Obama's propaganda artist during the campaign. He created the now famous red and blue poster of Obama.

The one I had posted must have been the Shepard Fairey “We did it” victory sticker. He commissioned it especially for the Obama victory. It was rectangular in shape horizontally.
One thing to note. Moveon.org was giving them out. They are saying they are all gone now! But no pic of it anywhere I can find.

I’m really scratching my head. I’m not kidding. I’ve never seen photos being changed or removed so often.
It is interesting that Obama has a guy that goes around posting the motto “OBEY” all over his stuff isn't it? A lot of Fairey’s work comes across as ‘power to the people’ stuff, but there is much darker imagery used by him and he does use a lot of symbolism in his works. His work comes across as oppressive to me.

To the best of my recollection, I put a copy of that sticker beside the pic of Shepard Fairey and his HOPE posters at #3. (Which WAS gone but reappeared yesterday.) I COULD be mistaken that I posted that sticker on #3. I think I'm on higher alert after witnessing a number of articles that have been scrubbed for O.
I'm currently scouring the net for that Shepard Fairey original sticker that was given out by Moveon.org.. As Mesta said, it may have been pulled to put in a book. But, you would think you could find it somewhere on the net.
Anyway, wanted to put it in writing for archiving purposes.
