CALL ME 'PARANOID': TOO MANY HOLES IN O'S HEALTH PITCH
NY Post ^ | August 15, 2009 | Jonah Goldberg

IF I went to a Democratic town hall, I'd probably boo, too. Hence, accord ing to various Democrats and supporters of ObamaCare, I'm paranoid and just a bit unpatriotic.

Well, let me dilate on my paranoid treachery for a moment.

Under the plan discussed at President Obama's infomercial-esqe town halls, America would cut costs and expand coverage while avoiding rationing. Apparently, it's paranoid to think that's too good to be true.

Imagine you're in charge of bringing pie to a company picnic. You're planning to provide dessert for 100 people. Then, your boss says you need to hand out pie to 150. Fine, you say, I'll make more pies. But -- oh no! -- you can't because you've also been told costs must go down. OK, then you can cut slices of the existing pies smaller so everyone can have a piece. Wait! You can't do that either because you're not allowed to ration (i.e., give less to more).

According to Obama, the health-care pie will be sliced into more pieces, of equal or greater size than available now, for less money -- all because government is so much better than the private sector at managing large projects.

Such contradictions run through the talking points for ObamaCare. Consider life expectancy. In his big speech before the American Medical Association in June, Obama insisted that "the quality of our care is often lower, and we aren't any healthier. In fact, citizens in some countries that spend substantially less than we do are actually living longer than we do."

It's true, a few countries beat us in terms of life expectancy. But life expectancy is only partly about health care. Other factors matter.

I'm not worried about Obama's "sales pitch", I'm worried about what is actually in the bill. Facts sell themselves, and there are plenty of them to kill this bill.

If RINO's are looking to compromise, they are not doing anybody any good, just diluting the poison.

Using the plan's metered care based upon age, a 25 year old illegal will receive preferential treatment over a 65 year old citizen.

Now tell me what is "caring" about that.

Suck it all in....because when Congress comes back....everything will go silent....and the next thing we’ll hear is that Congress has passed Universal Health Care and the President is ready to sign it.

Mark Levin read on-air a great analysis by an author (who I cannot remember) that outlined some key points.

1.) Medicare and Medicaid are funded by separate flat payroll taxes, and are therefore compartmentalized. That is, they are not a zero sum game. Adding to or increasing the cost of one does not take away from the other and therefore put the two recipients at each other's throats (the poor for Medicaid and the elderly for Medicare) Putting them all in the same pool with Obamacare does just that.

2.) 75-85% of medical costs are expended on elderly people, not healthy people. If there are (and there will be) a shortage of personnel or services, it is going to impact them disproportionally. Liberals will say (truthfully in their minds) that there is no rationing, but the fact is, that there WILL be defacto rationing against the elderly due to this.

Chief Heathcare Advisor to Obama and brother of Rahm Emanuel.

"Services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic and should not be guaranteed. An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia."

Now, I don't know about "Death Panels" and all that. What I do know is that THIS statement above is made by the chief healthcare advisor to the President of The United States, the person who is pushing this legislation harder than anyone.

This man, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel is the brother of Rahm Emanuel. This is a guy, (Rahm Emanuel) who when election results were coming in was reputed to have taken a steak knife and repeatedly stabbed it into a table while yelling out the names of opponents and organizations, such as "McCain...DEAD!" (stab) "Palin...DEAD!" (stab) and so on.

Okay, hahaha, that is funny juvenile humor which I can laugh at in the correct context. Turn the tables on this..what if it had been Rove doing this? (That in and of itself is completely laughable, but you get the point) The point is, these guys are brothers, Ezekiel and Rahm Emanuel. They both fell close to the same tree, one is an immoral, corrupt whisperer in the ear of Obama, and, well...so is the other one.

The only problem is, one is whispering stuff like "...throw Israel under the bus..." and the other one is whispering "An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia."

We will hear liberals say (and probably him as well) that his words were taken out of context, but I read the paper Ezekiel Emanuel wrote, and the context is all too clear. If they want to push concepts such as "The Complete Lives System", they cannot complain if people compare them to the Nazis, who had their own methods of dealing with the vulnerable and defenseless in society.

As I said in another thread, it is a disquieting fact that the people who are crafting this legislation, beginning with the person who is pushing it the hardest, have no problem with the concept of aborting a 8 3/4 month baby that unexpectedly refuses to die, then leaving it gasping out its short life on a steel table in a linen closet without even a comforting hand to let it know that its short spark of life touched someone.

I am not making it into an abortion issue. But the point remains that when we surrender our choices to legislation created by those people, we all can be that doomed child.

For anyone who is interested,

The entire House healthcare reform bill, as of today before the provision for “Advanced Care Planning Consultation” was allegedly removed, can be viewed at http://waysandmeans.house.gov/media/pdf/111/AAHCA09001xml.pdf
Of course you really do need at least two straight days and a lawyer’s interpretation to begin to try to understand it all; however, the language leading up to end-of-life counseling (which is actually referred to as Advanced Care Planning Consultation)does begin on page 416 of this House bill, is identified as Advanced Care Planning Consultation around the middle of page 426, goes on in detail about Advanced Care Planning Consultation for all of the pages through the first part of page 443, and is referred to as end-of-life services, at least once, on page 424.

So there it is for all to see; open to infinite forms of abuse of the healthcare and quality of life of our senior citizens. I guess one way to control costs is to limit healthcare to individuals after a certain age and allow them to die off.

Jonah, this is so easy to see. Please reference the Bible online and search for “Loaves” and “Fishes.”
