MoveOn.org is Trying to Mobilize Activists to Attend Town Hall Meetings to Push for ‘Public Option’
CNSNews ^ | August 13, 2009 | Penny Starr

The lead article on MoveOn.org’s Web site yesterday and this morning is headlined, “It’s Getting Ugly.”

“Right-wing extremists are disrupting town hall meetings with attacks on President Obama’s plans for health care and clean energy,” it says. “But we’re showing Congress that ordinary Americans continue to support his agenda for change.”

If visitors to the site then click on a link labeled, “Get materials to attend a town hall near you,” they are directed to a list of three suggested statements and a question they can use at town hall meetings, as well as additional links to ready-made posters that can be downloaded and printed.

I think that protestors should download the MoveOn.org signs, print them, and draw big “X’s” through them.

American citizens = Right Wing Extremists.

And the lies from the left just continue....

“But we’re showing Congress that ordinary Americans continue to support his agenda for change.”

MoveOn has a real confusion problem as to where the EXTREMISM AND RADICALISM is coming from here.....

From Communist Party USA: MoveOn promo...

MoveOn.org's nationwide network of more than 1,700,000 online activists is one of the most effective and responsive outlets for democratic participation available today.

(prior to the election)

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.

The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

A Landslide Mandate For Change

Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

July 1, 2009...

Change is Here, Change is Coming

Sam Webb, National Chair, Communist Party, USA:

Let me begin with a simple observation: If the last 30 years were an era of reaction, then the coming decade could turn into an era of reform, even radical reform. Six months into the Obama presidency, I would say without hesitation that the landscape, atmosphere, conversation, and agenda have strikingly changed compared to the previous eight years.

In this legislative session, we can envision winning a Medicare-like public option and then going further in the years ahead.

We can visualize passing tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry, which brought the economy to ruin.

We can imagine the troops coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan while U.S. representatives participate in a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.

In the current political climate, the expansion of union rights becomes a real possibility.

Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still-rising rate, and likely long term persistence, of unemployment.

Isn’t it possible in the Obama era to create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and other sectors of the economy in tandem with an attack on global warming?

Can’t we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?

And isn’t the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system – a system steeped in racism – no longer pie-in-the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?

All these things are within reach now!

But, of course, it was wrong. It and Soros have been ugly from day one!

More bluster and smack talking from the left, just like how SEIU and the Teamsters were going to turn the tables on the right wingers. Despite a few scuffles, most of the rank and file union guys agree with the protesters so that didn’t happen. Now MoveON.org and the potheads are going to mass now to squelch this peasant revolt. To bad college semesters are starting, beer and chicks are on the menu not protesting.

My neighbor has a son at Penn State, a sexual ambiguous 125lbs soaking wet, chin pubed, Che Guevara shirt wearing retard. I saw this little drone around the neighborhood, with his man purse, passing out Obama fliers last October. This summer I see him out on the deck with his freak GF, smoking cigs and drinking Natural Light. He looks too stupid and addled to be of any consequence. That is MoveON.org, the drunk Sociology majors. I am shaking in my boots /sarcasm

“But we’re showing Congress that ordinary Americans continue to support his agenda for change.”

Sorry punk.

If you get paid to be bused in to protest, you are NOT an 'ordinary American', you're a paid THUG!

-----

Anyone attending should videotape everything possible. Even if they won't let you in, tape the people stopping you.

The Lying Purple People Beaters [ a.k.a. SEIU] are a RICO lawsuit waiting to happen.

When it does, you can name names like the Democratic Party, Move On.org, Pelosi, Obama...the whole ball-o-wax.

They've made public statements about hitting back and getting in people's faces, and they should be held accountable, IMHO.

LOL. Nice description. Actually, he sounds more like an Obot. Moveon’ers are largely the older, ex-hippy, idealistic, Volvo driving types. They ain’t going anywhere soon.

“He looks too stupid and addled to be of any consequence. “

You described ACORN well - fat, stupid, lazy and drunk. This is king obuma’s army. His civilian force that’s as big as and as well equipped as the US military.

Ha!

Remember last winter when obuma called on his thug army to gather, go door-to-door and demand that people sign oaths of fealty to the king thug?

Nobody showed up.

Ha!

You could today go to a dozen large liberal cities and you couldn’t recruit a single squad to join a Lincoln Brigade as happened in the 1930s. Today’s American leftist is a coward. A fat one at that.
