Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government's coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.
It's outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.
The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."
Are you kidding me?! With whose parental principles and values? Their own? Certain experts'? From what field and theory of childhood development? As if there are one-size-fits-all parenting techniques! Do we really believe they would contextualize and personalize every form of parenting in their education, or would they merely universally indoctrinate with their own?

Who is surprised? The left can’t wait to control every aspect of life, including the way parents bring up their kids. They hate it when parents tell their kids that stealing is wrong, that certain kinds of sex are unnatural and that we weren’t designed for them, that the USA is a wonderful country in spite of the libs, that God is the source of moral law, etc etc.
The libs want to control all that and take away from parents their right to teach their kids.

Any of these inquisitive “social worker” types who may come to my door will be politely turned away without gaining entry - the first time.
The next time(if there is one) they will be neutrally informed that they are on private property, and told to depart post haste.
Should they persist for any reason whatsoever, they’ll be informed that my attorney is...
1) on speed dial
2) on retainer
3) personally aggravated at, and on a long-running “winning streak” against their agencies and ilk...
There are occasionally the honest, well-meaning types who are usually neophytes who believe in what they are doing, they really want to give only as much help as is requested, and do so with a warm heart...
But they usually burn out and exit the field quickly, and they are outnumbered by the mean-spirited and vindictive cogs in the bureaucratic wheel, and by the “moralistic busybodies” decried by CS Lewis...
These latter two types, working in concert, cause incalculable harm to American families, and I spare them no courtesy, neither sympathy, nor respect.
We would all be better off if they went to work as mimes in a foreign country, and being neither heard, nor understood - they could bring no harm.
