I appreciate the fact that the guy was legally carrying but do you not agree that the Secret Service might have a little interest in armed folks who are near the president?

Don't you think that if someone truly intended to get close enough to the president to harm him, that they would have their weapon well-hidden, as opposed to legally carrying it openly where it can be seen from a distance?

No I don't. It's the easy and legal way to get close to the president with a gun.

Look, I hate the air Obama breathes but we need to pick our battles and coming locked and loaded to a presidential event is not the best way to protest. I would expect the Secret Service to deal with any thugs who might cause problems so being armed isn’t necessary. Really, it only causes problems at such a venue.
