WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration is preparing a set of about 50 benchmarks for Afghanistan, senior officials said Monday, redefining how to measure success in a war now widely assessed as a stalemate. The benchmarks will test how well the U.S. military and civilian "surges" ordered by President Barack Obama are working.

The new measures, ordered by Congress, are due Sept. 24 amid creeping skepticism among many Democrats about the war's prognosis and costs.

this should be interesting, since we know one of them won’t be “victory,” since he has said he has no expectations of such a thing in Afghanistan. dying to see O’s exit strategy....since he was always on GWB for his in Iraq.

You can bet the benchmark containing the word victory will not be found in this report since it originated with a Democrat president.

A stalemate? WTF is wrong with that fraud?

If I were still serving, I'd quit. He degrades the service every time he opens his lying mouth.

Come on home everyone, let Obama and his union mobs go play benchmark.

“The Afghanistan benchmarks will be more detailed than the Iraq war scorecard used by the Bush administration, a senior administration official said Monday.”
Of course they will. Obama’s guys are just busy running around trying to find metrics they can believe in. Perhaps they'll just measure the opium crop and use that?

The Democrats haven’t supported a war since 1968. FIFTY benchmarks? Wouldn’t one simple goal, like defeating the Taliban and Al Qaeda, be preferable?

Before this muzzie leaves office... the taliban will rule Afghanistan again and binny... if he isn't worm meat... will taunt hussama publicly. Leftists are losers and therefore love to lose... no matter how many lives or how much treasure it may cost. They believe that it will not be them or their families paying... until al qaeda hits us again... hard... and with hussama guarding us... that is a certainty.

yep

And somewhere in those metrics you WILL find that American troops are not valued as high as Afghan livestock.
