I am interested in attending the next local town hall meeting, and found that one way to do so is to register at my.barackobama.com to find out where the next one is.
Yesterday, I posted an article stating that, as a result of registering, I received an email from the DNC asking me to schedule an office visit with my congressional representative to state my opinion about health reform. Here is a link to that thread:

Today, I clicked on the link provided to schedule a visit with my Democratic congressman, Patrick Murphy, and was prompted to print out a talking points sheet to bring with me. The text of this sheet is shown in my first post below.
First, whom is telling whom what to say in this debate?
Second, does this mean that the administration is worried about losing support of congress on this?
Office Visits for Health Reform GUIDE BEFORE YOUR VISIT
Call ahead. Some offices may change their office hours with short notice, so just call ahead to confirm that the office will be open when you intend to visit. There’s no need to schedule an appointment unless you’d like to have a longer conversation with the staff.
Print out the attached flyer. If you can, print out this document. On the second page is a flyer which highlights the facts of the health care crisis in your state, and lays out the 8 Health Insurance Guarantees that every citizen can count on under the President’s vision for health reform.
Write out why this matters to you. At the bottom of the flyer is space for you to hand write a short personal message to your member of Congress about why it’s so important to you to pass health insurance reform in 2009, such as a personal story about your experience with the health care system. This will ensure a written record of your visit and your message and make your trip even more effective.
DURING YOUR VISIT
Introduce yourself. Office resources vary, so you may be speaking to the office director, caseworker, or simply the person at the front desk. Make sure whoever greets you knows that you’re a constituent, and you’re there to express your support for passing real health insurance reform in 2009. If you only have a moment, just make sure they record your name, address and where you stand on reform. (Make sure to leave the flyer you filled out with them as well!)
Share your story. If you can take a few minutes and you want to make an even bigger impression, ask to speak to whomever handles health care issues in that office. Tell them why health insurance reform is so important to you. If you feel comfortable, please consider sharing a personal health care story about yourself or a loved one. Take your time and speak from the heart. This is not a debate, and you don’t need to be an expert, just someone who knows firsthand why we urgently need reform.
Ask for their support. Before you leave, ask if your member of Congress will commit to supporting the President’s call for real health insurance reform in 2009.
Stay calm and positive. While some are attempting to disrupt and shut down debate, our goal is to engage in meaningful, respectful discussion. Remaining calm, positive and polite while speaking to any staff member is the best way to be heard. Thank them for their time and hard work!

Thanks for posting this. I’m considering following their outline but with corrections and factual information instead when I present it to my ‘Rat rep. THIS COMMUNICATION IS NOT AUTHORIZED BY ANY CANDIDATE OR CANDIDATE’S COMMITTEE.” This came from the Zero website but it isn’t endorsed by him??? HA! Why would they be issuing a disclaimer in advance unless they expect it to blow up in Zero’s face.
So now Obama wants us to spy on our elected officials. Obama is Chavez. We’re watching the early stages of a Marxist takeover.
Be very wary of signing onto any government, zero or leftwing sight that promises you something or asks something ‘patriotic’ of you. This is zero’s mechanism for recruiting or expanding his base to email propaganda at will. It appears to be just another alinsky ploy.
Regarding being wary of signing on to Obama’s sight, I cannot disagree more. Responsible citizens need to sign up in order to see what he is communicating. It needs to be brought out into the sunlight.
In fact, this appears to be one of those “fishy” emails and websites that should be reported.
Tne term “health insurance reform” has replaced “health care reform.”
Democrats have been spreading “daily talking points” for years, and it’s time Americans came to realize how insidious that is.

I am very concerned with this administration’s penchant for keeping records on what people do and say. They want reports back from these “office visits”..they even want a record of behavior on their democratic congressmen! They want to know who is in line with Obama, and who isn’t.
This isn’t Kenya. In this country, we have a separation of power. The President doesn’t have ultimate power. The People and their representatives have a right to PRIVATE conversations. It is none of the President’s business how the congressman reacted to the voters in his district!
Please send a scan of this “talking points” paper, to Rush, O’Reilly, to Beck, and everyone you can. Publisize this action by the President. I don’t think democrats will even appreciate having people “snitch” on them; nor this intrusion by the President. This has to get out.
This man must be stopped. All people who love freedom must work together to remove his power and get him out of office.
