Brees received the Austin Bar Association's 2005 professionalism award for legal ethics and professionalism. In 2006, she came within 22,168 votes of being elected to the state 3rd Court of Appeals in 2006, losing to Republican incumbent David Puryear by 4.5 percentage points. Brees ran as a Democrat.

Considering her latest exploits, had she lived she would probably have been able to retire the award for "legal ethics and professionalism" from the American Bar Association. At least she'll be able to remain active Democratic politics. The Democratic Party supports full civil rights for Necro-Americans.

Of course, before I accept the news of her death, I'd want a DNA test on the corpse and a pin stuck in her folded hands.

Something I can’t figure out is how using a New Orleans player is supposed to help with an election in Texas. If he once played for Dallas I could understand but he didn’t. It seems like that would have the opposite effect.
