Who is getting 'Stimulus?' (Political Payoffs)

Where’s all that ‘Stimulus’ money going? We were told it was to create jobs, but we know with certainty that few to no permanent jobs were created. We also know that ‘Stimulus’ did nothing for ‘the economy’ – but did much to repress it.

The worst part of the ‘Stimulus’ handout is the huge amount that went to Pell Grants – most of it to benefit leftist university and student interests (one of Obama’s greatest support groups) – not a dime of which will create a job.

Now you can see for yourself where all of it went - and by how much. A few short-term jobs were created – some as short as one day - just to claim that a job was created.

As you might expect, the biggest winner of ‘Stimulus’ has been California, receiving a whopping $15.7 billion, and Los Angeles County getting the lion’s share of that, at $2.1 billion – some of that going to long neglected street and sidewalk pavement, and keeping the huge number of incompetent city employees employed – but a vast amount of it going to renovating transit buses, renovation of decaying schools – and lots of money to interests of the leftist teachers unions, probably Obama’s second greatest source of support in California.

Check your County… see who is getting what amount. You can bet government workers will be getting the greatest amounts. Meanwhile – forget about small business, particularly any that are Republican or Conservative.

Honestly, I am so disgusted with my country and government lately, that at times I feel almost detached from it. I find myself just wanting to get out. It’s just too big and too complicated. Those pell grants are sickening. The amounts are staggering! Is there any reason they can’t get student loans and pay them back. UGH!! I wish I hadn’t even looked.

I hope you are right because I’m running out of steam. It’s been a year now since the Marxist really entered our lives and you know, I like to be right, but this time I wish I had been wrong. I knew what he was but thought he might not be as bad as he could be. It’s a hundred times worse. It’s not just him, there is a huge cold war between the Marxists that are sure this is their one and only chance and the other side trying desperately to save the Republic.
Our vacation home outside the US may just get a lot more use, as in permanent use. If they ram that health care through, that’s it. It’s over. Cap and Trade will follow and it will all come tumbling down. I’m out of here. Health care is the game changer for my family.

Yes it is! Far worse than many many people thought possible. But, I figured it would be, and I hoped the bloody zero would over-reach big... and the fool did just that, and he's losing support big now because of it.

I expect this may get worse - as in some form of 'health care' bill passing in September... and a big push for Cap 'n Trade to follow. But I also expect, that 'one-two' punch will be the undoing of the Democrats for likely the next 15 to 20 years. What these nazi's enact can and will be repealed - simply because the public will demand it.

It's going to be a long hard slog, but American's are mad as hell, and they're ready for a fight - and by heaven the anti-big-gov public will prevail!

Hey Joe - I clicked on the county I was jerked up in and lo and behold...what a scam I'm seeing. $1.149 million to a friggin JEWELERY store...thats more than to the entire city school district I gaijiated from.
Something else I'm seeing....monies to chain stores...no doubt receiving monies in other states and other counties...just feeding off the gov't teat where ever they can. Monies to businesses with multiple locations in various states and counties. A million here...a million there...suck suck.
And monies going to so-called businesses for which no info can be found on the web...thats very strange.

In my county one indivdual got money from Pell Grants (4 different distribut1ons) totaling 125K. She runs a beauty school. Does the Pell Grant program pay the school for a students tuition straight to the institution?

By the way she is a Republican and donated to Bush-Cheney in 2004 and to the RNC in 2006.

If you want to have some fun, sort it by Date Granted. The first to get their hands into the cookie jar was section 8 housing, the second was community health centers. Basically free housing and health care for the “Poor”.

As I remember the Pell Grant procedure it goes like this:
Student applies for(fills out the paperwork) for the Grant.
School processes their end of the paperwork and then submits it up the chain
Appropriate State/Federal office does their processing of paperwork and then grants or denies the applicant
Paperwork and monies are then returned to the school
Check is sent to student if application is successful

Now, I do not remember if the Pell Grant checks were issued by he school or a Federal/State group. Part of me thinks it was a Federal check and part of me thinks it was a school check....and part of me thinks it was a School check issued on a Federal account. I think I remember picking up the check from Student Affairs Office some years and other times it was mailed to my address(home). Its been too many years for me to remember.
Perhaps someone younger and more 'in the know' can help out with this.

Government Unemployment “free money” has been raised and extended.

Government Food Stamp handouts have been raised substantially (from $178/month to $316/month in a recent example).

And where do these folks believe this beneficence comes from? Why, from -7nobama, of course!

To my knowledge, Pell grant checks are issued by the government and go directly to the college to offset a student’s tuition.

Stafford Loans are sometimes issued to the student, but usually only after the school takes their portion to cover housing/tuition. It’s the only time I know of that a student receives any money directly...my sons have used the remainder for books and sometimes housing if living off campus.
