REYNOSA Soldiers seized 20 grenades and arrested one man as they patrolled the Mexican side of the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge on Monday.
The Mexican army encountered a Chevrolet Suburban registered in Tamaulipas on Monday. Inside the vehicle, soldiers foundh 20 hand grenades concealed within a roll of foam sponge, according to a statement from Mexico's secretary of national security.
Soldiers arrested 21-year-old Roberto Gaspar Caballero of Reynosa.
The military turned over Gaspar, the grenades and vehicle to the local police in Reynosa, according to the statement.
Must be a load of those grenades bought legally by US citizens and transported across the border.....
Ping!
If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
We really must close the gunshow loophole.
Was this man going in any particular direction?
Vehicle inspections by the Mexican army can happen anywhere in mexico. The article doesn’t explicitly say that this man and his vehicle were crossing the border inbound.
Maybe tied in with this case

According to this Milenio report he was tring to enter the United States.
So is the MSM going to tell us the mexican drug lords are buying Korean hand grenades at US gun shows??
I see the ‘young prisoner’ did try to enter the US. Wonder why the monitor article didn’t bother to mention that.
¿Quién sabe?
I hate it when the Mexicans buy up all of the hand grenades in WalMart.
He must have bought those at Wal-Mart using the gun show loophole.
He was northbound and almost at the border.
Perhaps he got them at Wal-Martines using the escapatoria de la demostración de arma.
