Some Obama Voters Start to Express Regret
The Washington Post ^ | 8/4/09 | Sandhya Somashekhar

Posted on 08/04/2009 6:16:15 PM PDT by LdSentinal

The coffee was still brewing when Chris Ann Cleland got her first reminder of the day that voting for Barack Obama might have been a mistake.

The Prince William County real estate agent was sitting at a long wooden table covered with paperwork. Her clients, a young couple who had brought their 2-week-old baby, were finalizing a short sale on a townhouse that they were anxious to unload, even if it meant ruining their credit, because they had maxed out their credit cards trying to make the payments.

For Cleland, it was another example -- one of many this day -- of the broken promises of a president who she thought would be different. Obama pledged to change a Washington culture that favored corporations and the connected and lift families such as the one sitting next to Cleland out of their economic funk. Instead, she said, Obama handed billions of dollars to banks that continue to "act like they're broke" and started the country down a path that Cleland said she thinks will lead to more grief for the middle class.

"He's just not as advertised," she said. "Nothing's changed for the common guy. I feel like I've been punked."

There are still plenty of those who feel a tingle going up their legs when they think of Obama. As a Catholic I can only shake my head in disbelief when I think of the 53% of Catholic voters who put him over the top even after all the warnings they heard from Church leaders before the election took place.

The ones that I know still don’t regret their foolish decision of having voted for him. I always tell them to look at their kids. All that these will possibly have in the future is some piece of dirt to stand on and breathe a prearranged portion of socialist air.

The Democrats are increasingly the party of idiots. They have no means of discernment when it comes selecting a candidate. They have no understanding of our nation's history. Unfortunately stupid voters breed faster than informed voters.

Nice post. Three people who have voted democrat including one Republican and one who switches from time to time - now two out of three are ready for a change...one that happens instead of a magic show that shows you’ve been fooled when they pull away the curtain.

"doesn't think that the Kenyan Clown has been radical enough."

Exactly. I don't get any sense of real hope for America from this article. The "people" are pissed that O-hole hasn't distributed enough wealth their way yet. Not that they have come to view him as a Marxist pig.

This SO true. And it's the reason we're ultimately doomed in this country. DeToqueville was right. (See tagline.)

God help my TWO kids.

Thanks, BufordP. Since you obliged and pinged your list, I thought I'd better at least find out where and when in McLean this event was going to occur. So far, I have the WHERE, thanks to the Washington Post:

Deeds Pulls in the President

President Barack Obama will travel across the river on Aug. 6 for a fundraiser for Democratic gubernatorial contender Creigh Deeds at the McLean Hilton, the Deeds campaign confirmed this evening.

Obama will also appear at some kind of public function that day, Deeds spokeman Jared Leopold said. Invitations for the fundraiser went out a couple of days ago.

HokieMom, I pinged you, too, because you asked about more specific information.

I hope you all still have time on such short notice to arrange for buses, bag lunches, smokes, and cash and gifts for your protest participants. (/sarc)

In all seriousness, I hope there is some interest in keeping the momentum going, in pushing Obama's poll numbers further downward, and taking many, many other Democrat pols and candidates down with him. And I hope you can manage a great Freep with great turnout.

It looks like BufordP already has a good sign ready to go.

Good Luck and Godspeed, Virginians!

I found a little bit more HERE:

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama will cross the Potomac River on Aug. 6 to campaign for Deeds. He will attend a public rally and private fundraiser at the McLean Hilton Hotel in Tysons Corner.

And more HERE:

Obama to Campaign for Deeds
July 23, 2009

President Barack Obama will come to the Commonwealth Aug. 6 to campaign for Democratic gubernatorial nominee Creigh Deeds.

Mr. Obama will headline a fundraiser in McLean, which should help swell Deeds’ war chest. The president will also attend a public rally. Details for that event are still being adjusted.

UPDATE, Friday 4:42 p.m. –

The event details are out, per the Deeds team:

Rally with Creigh Deeds, President Obama and Gov. Kaine

Aug. 6, 5:00 p.m.

Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, 7920 Jones Branch Drive, McLean

So, it appears the public rally, for the peasants is first, at 5pm; and then the caviar and cocktails event for the deep pockets donors will be after.

I just posted more info, too; and forgot to ping you. Have fun, if you can manage to get there. But do not go alone!

ObamaBots can be violent, especially now, with their hero, Zero, tanking in the polls.
