Maher should be cheering the “birthers” on - after all they just prove his contention that America is a Stupid Country, in his mind.

Bill Maher is a failed comedian who has re-invented himself as some kind of pundit.

I'm so puzzled by all of this. If the birth certificate exists, why not show it and be done with it ? This will make a lot of people look foolish.
If the birth certificate doesn't exist why then didn't Hillary's people make it an issue? Nobody is better at digging up dirt than the Clintons. They surely would have made an issue out of this, wouldn't they? That is unless the Obama people held some type of trump card over the Clintons. That's real Chicago politics, big time. This is a possibility.
Can it be that the Obama people are setting a trap. This issue builds to a crescendo, and then when backed into a corner, they produce the (or a ) certifigate-thus making those on the right look stupid.
I just speculating. I don't know and don't have any gut feel on this issue as I have on most others. This one is really bizarre.

For that matter, Bill Maher’s name isn’t even really Bill Maher.
That’s a fake he uses.
Perhaps if he wants to weigh in on this issue, he should use his real name.

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States." Blacks Law Dictionary, 8th Edn., p. 1407 identifies five different uses of shall. 1. Has a duty to; more broadly, is required to . This is the mandatory sense that drafters typically intend and that courts typically uphold. 2. Should (as often interpreted by courts) . 3. May . When a negative word such as not or no precedes shall (as in the example in angle brackets), the word shall often means may. What is being negated is permission, not a requirement. 4. Will (as a future tense verb) . 5. Is entitled to . Only sense 1 is acceptable under strict standards of drafting. The use of Shall in the legal sense in definition #1 would put the burden of proof on the Office-Seeker. If it is a Requirement of Employment, the burden of Proof falls on the Applicant. Shall is a very powerful verb. shall /ʃæl; unstressed ʃəl/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [shal; unstressed shuhl] Show IPA Use Shall in a Sentence auxiliary verb, present singular 1st person shall, 2nd shall or (Archaic) shalt, 3rd shall, present plural shall; past singular 1st person should, 2nd should or (Archaic) shouldst or should⋅est, 3rd should, past plural should; imperative, infinitive, and participles lacking. 1. plan to, intend to, or expect to: I shall go later. 2. will have to, is determined to, or definitely will: You shall do it. He shall do it. 3. (in laws, directives, etc.) must; is or are obliged to: The meetings of the council shall be public. 4. (used interrogatively in questions, often in invitations): Shall we go? In definition #3, the use is as an Imperative verb: Imperative The imperative form of the verb gives instructions or commands. It is the base form of the verb, like the infinitive. be Dont be afraid. play Play quietly. talk Talk to me! put Put three eggs in a bowl. The subject of the imperative isnt stated, but it is understood to be "you". It is Obama's job to prove he is Eligible, rather than for us to to Prove a Negative.

........I'd be worried too if I was part of the confused clan who helped push a rookie socialist non-naturalized citizen in to the office of President to wreak his agendized propaganda upon our Nation and to embarrass us across the globe. .
Yes, I'd be very worried.
Clearly Obama won't show us his birth cert because he was born in Kenya. The Dims don't care.

because the media didn't have the guts to say, This is nonsense. Here you can see the problem, it's not enough for the press to say "it's nonsense". Nonsense is not identified and dismissed by just declaring it nonsense, it requires proof, and the proof should be simple to supply. When no proof is offered, or worse, fraudulent of fallacious proof is offered it only bolsters the opposing view.
I have yet to take a stance on the issue of Obamas birth place, however judging by the quality of the oppositions arguments and the frantic declarations of "nonsense" without the slightest proof leads me to believe there is a serious problem with the Presidents birth records.
I think it is entirely reasonable to expect the President to adhere to the same standard the rest of us are held to when getting a passport, we have to show our birth certificate. We can't show some snippet from some old paper, or call those requesting it crazy.
