What this (health care) legislation will and won't do (Media Propaganda Alert)
The Charlotte Observer ^ | August 2, 2009 | McClatchy-Tribune News Services

Does health care reform mean socialized medicine?

No. The pending legislation relies on the private insurance sector to provide coverage, with the mandate that individuals and most employers participate.

Liberal Democrats, including President Obama, contend that a government entity should be created to sell health insurance and compete against private insurance companies. This is the “public plan” that proponents claim is needed to keep private insurance rates from going too high. Such a plan appears unlikely to win approval in any final legislation because of vociferous opposition from Republicans and conservative Democrats.

In this feature the McClatchy-Tribune newspaper chain goes "all out" for socialized medicine and their God Obama by taking every major criticism, listing them, and then repeating the Obama Administration's talking points as "facts." This pretends to try to be educational for the public, but it is all lies. This is PURE EVIL, people. How did we get to this point?

Moderator: This is a reposting as I made so many typos in the first one.

Is it true that you would lose your current insurance if health care overhaul passes?

No. The aim of health care overhaul is to build on the existing system and expand insurance coverage, with the goal of health insurance coverage for everyone. If this legislation is enacted, expect insurance companies to be very busy writing new health policies for employers or employees. After five years, existing employer-based health plans would be required to provide “essential health benefits,” which would be defined by an independent health benefits advisory committee.

Only a die hard lying liberal could write that with a straight face.

This isn’t marked as commentary. Is this rag actually pushing this agitprop as a news story?

Why listen to any of the MSM or the Dems? We can all read it ourselves.

Here is a link to the full House Democrat Health Care Plan in PDF. In Section 1233 E & F, pages 426-433, you find the part about mandatory end-of-life counseling for anyone over 65 years of age. Section 152 Page 50: All healthcare services will be provided without regard to "personal characteristcs" which is not defined within the document but is understood to include immigration status.

Section 224 b Page 125: The Secretary shall design and implement the payment mechanisms and policies under this section in a manner that — (1) seeks to (B) reduce health disparities (including racial, ethnic and other disparities).

A lot more provisions now being documented at that site.

Donwload it, read it, study it, then hammer your reps over it and pass it on to all you know asking them to do the same.

Also, here's a large image of the Democratic (Obama) Health Plan chart-another Obama empty promise. This is the one the House democrats are censuring. Email these links or the image to everyone you know.

Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market and fundamental republican principle.

Yes. This is being presented as a news story explaining the “facts” of the legislation.

There is nothing new about this. The Charlotte Observer is a biased rag. Carolina Politics Online demolished this article today, by the way. It’s great.

Indeed it is — and it could be even worse than this ad portrays it.
