In other words, giving him the rag, offensive term of your mother. And your mama this and that. Crossed the line there. So an apology owed. He owes it to Jimmy's mother, anyways, to bring her into this because God knows (INAUDIBLE) her out on this, too.

I don’t understand the mama comments either and I’m not from Wisconsin.
Just for the record, if you want to have a vicious fight with an Hispanic, reference something about his/her mom. Works every time.
Maybe this is a male/female thing. I’m female. I don’t get the “mama” comment. I need someone to spell this out to me like I’m a nine year old child. I understand one shouldn’t disrespect another’s mother, but what exactly, is it that everyone else seems to get about this that I don’t?

I suspect Gates didn’t just say ‘yo momma’. I suspect it was a vulgar reference to Crowley’s mother. That’s why we haven’t HEARD the tapes. Oh, to be a fly on the wall when the cops were listening to those tapes!
This is one of the most outrageous bits of Gates’s behavior. He denies that he said anything about Crowley’s mother at all, and that Crowley must have made it up after watching ‘Good Times’ episodes back in the day. Yet, here’s a clip of him in 1996 where he also talks about trying to end the hundreds of years of ‘yo’ moma’ insults in the black community (towards the end of the clip):

“Skippy” (his white nickname) Gates said something like this when asked to step outside:
“I'll meet yo mama on the porch (or outside)”
The reference “yo mama” is derogatory, one “expert” says it has sexual implications.
I do know it is an insult, and an insult to the person you are talking to’s mother.
So arrogant protected FOO (Friend Of Obama) racist waiting-for-an-opportunity-to-call-whitey racist and state “this is the way blacks are treated in America.” got his golden chance to play the race card and he took it.
Gates has been pampered and deified (a "highly respected celebrity professor") to the point that he didn't feel he had to obey any white man because he is black and his buddy Obama is Present of the United States.
He jumped on the opportunity, and Obama backed up his racist arrogant actions and now a lawyer friend of Obama’s is taking this national.
One of the black pundit lackey's of race baiting said on TV last nite that saying a harvard professor is arrogant is like saying a basketball player is tall.
Not relevant, your genes don't make you arrogant, bigotry does.
This reminds me of the time when my grandfather, who was 90 yrs. old at the time, punched out another old guy in his nursing home because the guy called my grandpa a son-of-a-bitch. My grandpa said "that was an insult to my mother".
Must not have been that insulting or else Crowley wouldn’t have consented to have a beerfest with Gates and Obama.
