Former President Bill Clinton is one of the featured speakers at todays inaugural Weight of the Nation conference in Washington, sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control to focus on obesity prevention and control.
Clintons battles with his own weight, of course, are famous -- punctuated by fast-food runs during the early days of his presidency, and the heart bypass operation he needed to undergo in 2004.
How to fuel up for an appearance like todays conference?
According to The Washington Posts Reliable Source column (which has the photo to prove it), the former president waited in line Saturday night at Z Burger in Washingtons Tenleytown neighborhood, posing for photos and signing autographs as his take-out order was readied.
His order: double burger (hold the mayo), onion rings, French fries, and an apple-pie milkshake.

I'm almost ashamed to say that I miss this kind of hutzpah.
Everything coming out of the 0 White House is so high-minded and sanctimonious.
The title was edited for space reasons.

That’s the way it’s going to be; the high and mighty eat all they want and get fat; our food will be rationed and controlled to ensure our health.

Onion rings AND french fries? I probably would have ordered the same thing but with a diet coke.

Rock on Bubba.
With Hillary out of the country all the time, he’s probably making good use of that El Camino with astroturf in the back.

Personally, I think we should all eat as much junk food as possible while it is still legal. Good for Bill on this one....he knows he's just part of huge bs campaign...if anyone knows bs it's him
By the way, I think we should all call our congressional offices with our health issues....if they want to be responsible for them, then let them have an earful of our problems....and tell us personally that they really don't care

I don’t know if anyone else saw his speech, but he looked really bad trying to read it. He looked like he was having trouble thinking and speaking. Weird.

Did abc news preempt their programming for a special news bulletin? Will this be the topic on niteline for the next three days? Will george stephanopoulos host a two hour prime time special reporting this?
Are Barney Fwank and Harry Waxthman going to hold hearings because it was a burger instead of the preferred sausage?

I'm almost ashamed to say that I miss this kind of hutzpah. Yep. Barry fancies himself some kind of Philosopher-King, even though he will be remembered as a court jester. Clinton just wanted a cheeseburger and a BJ. He ran the White House like a frat house. Ironic, given that he has twice the intelligence of Obama.
To: mojito
Once again, Hillary isn’t able to satisfy his appetites at home.

Another one that’s starting to see the end goal.
Fuedalism. Neo-nobles in control of all resources, and us peasants living and dying at their whim.
Trotsky, in paraphrasing 2 Thes 3:10, stated that the new paradigm would be “he who will not OBEY, will not eat”.
And the 2009 version will be
“he who will not obey, will not get medical care”
