This July 14th-'09 Federal FDA power-grab over the entire tobacco industry MUST BE OVER-RULED BY THE SUPREME COURT ! ===================================== *   This UNCONSTITUTIONAL CONTROL ATTEMPT by Obama and his fascist comrades in the Congress using the power of the Federal Gov't. would ELIMINATE the existing FREE-MARKET SYSTEM for ALL tobacco products AND IS UNPRECEDENTED in ANY present and past regulatory legislation NOT OVER-TURNED BY THE HIGH COURT. THIS OBVIOUS ABUSE OF AUTHORITY WILL NOT STAND. *   The SUPREME COURT has ruled to STOP this type of ABUSE of Federal regulatory power aquisition and clear collusion of the executive and legislative branches of government in N U M E R O U S CASE LAW rulings OVERTURNING TYRANICAL LAWS in the past. ======================================  Despite the negative effects of alcohol  use/abuse on society in the U.S., NEVER has an atempt been made to grant to the Federal Gov't., through the FDA, the power to DECIDE THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING ALL ALCOHOL PRODUCTS and THE VARIOUS INGREDIENTS USED.   THIS ENTIRE CONCEPT IS ABSURD and UNWORKABLE in the extreme.

ALL Federal Gov't. statistics regarding mortality effects from smoking and secondary tobacco smoke are BASED ENTIRELY on SYSTEMS of ESTIMATION in place of HARD PROVABLE FACTS. THESE INCLUDE those deaths from FOREST FIRES, FLU, PNEUMONIA, etc. READ-THIS-RPT.GAO-03-942R where 15,576 Flu and Pneumonia DEATHS ARE CLAIMED TO BE CAUSED BY NOT GERMS, BUT DIRECTLY BY SMOKING. "causally linked" means "CAUSED BY".

The GAO is a group of NON-SCIENTIFIC ESTIMATORS. Just by insinuation do these "estimations" magically become "FACTS" in the minds of those who predetermine the results they want. *   The Wash. Research Service concluded years ago that an estimated impact on the U.S. Medicare program from tobacco smoking to be approx. $.33 cents per pack of cigarettes sold/USA which is MORE than covered by the $1.09 per pack FEDERAL TAX NOW IMPOSED ! *  ANY FURTHER REGULATION by MANIPULATION of the FREE MARKET PRODUCTION of TOBACCO PRODUCTS is NOT NECESSARY FOR ANY REASON and BY ANY RATIONAL REASONING PROCESS WILL NOT PASS A CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGE in the U.S. SUPREME COURT. *   U.S. Senator Sam Brownback,( and other politicians I'm sure), have sent out FABRICATED FORM LETTER RESPONSES to those they claim to represent. These are ANTI-TOBACCO PROPAGANDA NOT BASED IN TRUTH, NOT BASED IN EXISTING FACTUAL STUDIES, but instead make TOTALLY UNSUBSTABCIATED and FALSE CLAIMS, without ANY DOCUMENTATION WHATSOEVER regarding an "ESTIMATED" loss to U.S. production and industry using their blind mantra of"SMOKING-RELATED" to FABRICATE IMANGINED FIGURES to PREDETERMINE the ABSOLUTELY FALSE RESULTS WHICH THEY THEN CLAIM TO BE FACTS ! *  In our FREE MARKET, FREE ENTERPRIZE ECONOMY, ============================================= this PREMEDITATED FEDERAL POWER GRAB ================================== by Obama with Congressional fascist comrades =============================================== MUST BE CHALLENGED ================== and HALTED IMMEDIATELY by the U.S. Supreme Court. =================================================   ANY FDA CONTROL OVER TOBACCO is  A N A T H E M A to the FREE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM WE NOW STILL ENJOY IF we can KEEP IT F R E E =============================== *  I call upon those reading this to TAKE ACTION NOW. ===============   IF your COMPANY has the means, TAKE THIS BAD LAW TO THE U.S.SUPREME COURT ! =========================================== WE MUST STOP THIS INSANITY BEFORE IT IS IMPLEMENTED. ====================================================  E V E R Y O N E CAN AND MUST WRITE TO CHIEF JUSTICE JOHN ROBERTS of the U.S. Supreme Court at: *  U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts =============================== U.S. Supreme Court ================== 1 FIRST STREET ============== WASH.,DC 20543 ============== and, DEMAND A SWIFT JUDICIAL REVIEW FOR CONSTITUTIONALITY of THIS FDA TOBACCO CONTROL LAW. IT IS A HUGE VIOLATION of CIVIL RIGHTS. ====================================== * Sincerely, J.Daniel USAF Veterans Committee For Truth K.C.KS

Our stupids in Govt. have made it so tobacco pays for a whole lot of govt. crap.
What is govt going to do when they’ve made it so no one can afford to smoke? Then who or what will be the sugar daddy?

Then who or what will be the sugar daddy?

You know the fat tax is around the corner, McD's hamburgers will have a %30 FAT tax tacked on.

X-Pres Clinton said on the news the other day that "Americans are going to have to give up unhealthy habits."

No kidding, I did not make that up. (I wonder if queer sex was included in his thoughts? nah.)

Though I oppose smoking, I can't help but believe that 0bama has a checklist to destroy American industries, one by one:

1. Banking

2. Insurance

3. Auto

4. Defense / aerospace

5. Tobacco

What's next? Coal? as promised during his campaign?

The almost certain efforts by the FDA to “regulate” cigarettes will raise the price and further limit access to them. This will be killing for states who have raised tobacco taxes as a means to balance their budgets. Already we are seeing a thriving black market for cigarettes and increasingly expensive efforts by states to fight bootlegging. I see an enormous opportunity for organized crime similar to that handed them by Prohibition.

The almost certain efforts by the FDA to “regulate” cigarettes will raise the price and further limit access to them.

To the contrary, my understanding is that one of the first things the FDA is planning, is to force a reduction in cigarette nicotine levels. As has been shown with "light" cigarettes, smokers using these to try to cut down actually end up smoking more of them to maintain their daily nicotine intake. (This was my experience as a former light cigarette smoker.)

Thus, reduced nicotine levels = more cigarette purchases = more tax revenues.

The dirty little secret to all this is that it's not about getting people to quit, it's about increasing tax revenues. The health argument is just to get dimwitted citizens to support yet another expansion of government control over our lives.

These people are *really* stupid. In every other incidence of a Communist takeover, they numb the population with alcohol and tobacco. The last thing these people want is a clear-headed, healthy population.

My quit date is October 15th. Then I loose the one thing that keeps me from loosing my mind over this administration’s insanity.

If it wasn't for the Drug Warriors from the Gum't, I'd start planting pot. I worked in tobacco as a "yute", and mj can't be as nasty to grow. Plus, it will help numb the reality of the Zero economy. The tobacco plants have to be "topped" (break off flowering tops) by hand, and I remember using turpintine and lava soap too well!

As each day passes, I become more of a libertine, and patriot. I think we are in for a war...

A libertine is one devoid of any restraints, especially one who ignores or even spurns accepted morals, and forms of behavior sanctioned by the larger society. ...

My liberty is a gift from my Creator. My patriotism is from the same source. It centers on family and friends. It exhibits itself in my life, through failure and success.

We are at a crossroads. I am a Christian, and believe there are no accidents. We've been living in the "End Times" since Jesus was resurrected and ascended into Heaven. He is waiting for the right time, but the appointed time is on His schedule, not ours.

FReepers are patriots. You can read through page after page and see that. Even some of the trolls are simply misguided, but love the country, too.

The course is clear. We must always bend our hearts to God in preparation for a fight, whether in Iraq or middle America. But, we must also be prepared to fight for our children's lives.

Ephesians 6; 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.. ... -NIV
