In what police describe as one of the most gruesome crimes against a child in recent memory, an infant boy was stabbed, decapitated and mutilated early Sunday.
His 33-year-old mother claimed responsibility, police said.
Otty Sanchez told police that she was “hearing voices” and that the devil made her kill Scott Wesley Buchholtz Sanchez, to whom she gave birth on June 30, San Antonio police spokesman Joe Rios said.
Sanchez used a steak knife to repeatedly stab the nearly 4-week-old baby, then decapitate and mutilate him, Rios said. A police source said the baby was skinned and gutted.

The article at the very last paragraph informs us she is a single mother.
“The baby’s father, who did not live with Sanchez, was notified”..
Was there ever any doubt that this was the case?

Um, this could be caused by a very real illness, post-partum depressionb/psychosis. If you’ve never heard of it or experienced it in your family, consider yourself lucky.
Your point was perfectly clear. Nothing new in this either from the hiding of “inconvenient” truth or from the fact that a huge proportion of murdered babies/children involve out of wedlock births. In this instant the nutcase did the job generally done by a bo’fren.
Sincere prayers for this poor sweet baby and the poor, sick mother, and the entire family. This story has been posted several times. Only God’s love can heal.
That child was long in heaven before he died.
