HOLLAND, Ohio (Reuters) - "Joe the Plumber," who came to symbolize U.S. taxpayer frustration during last year's election, sounds even angrier now at what he sees as excessive government spending on the economy and healthcare reform.
"The politicians in Washington are spending trillions of dollars of our money. When are Americans going to stand up and say enough is enough?" said Joe Wurzelbacher, 35, in an interview on Friday at his modest suburban Ohio home.
"Instead of spending more of our money, they should cut back like ordinary Americans are having to. Why do they think they can spend their way out of this mess?" said Wurzelbacher, referring to the $787 billion government stimulus bill.

JtP should have no love for the GOP, and its spokesmen, like Meghan McCain.
I agree with Joe.
Have you hugged a plumber lately? :-)
BumP.
Plumbers 4 "W"
We Flushed the Johns
Forgot to mention, I’m an ex-plumber
My vote goes with Joe and against both parties too. Republicans are prostitutes suddenly acting like they care because they have no responsibility and polls are naturally turning on dems. They would sell us out on a dime if in power, you see Pelosi cutting deals with republicans?
The real question here is where is the political party that represents the middle class?
I am offended by the ENTIRE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF THE USA with the single exception of Michelle Bachmann. In fact, I’m not sure that offended is the right word. Perhaps “disgusted” or “utterly revolted” may be more accurate.
The Republicans controlled Washington for six years and deliberately failed to live up to their libertarian rhetoric of small, non-intrusive, Constitutional government.
Borrowing and spending is just as bad as taxing and spending.
When the voters finally turn on the Democrats, I sincerely hope they turn to real conservatives, libertarians, and Constitutionalists, rather than the two-bit RINO hacks (and their apologists) that run the Republican Party.
Wurzelbacher said he had voted for McCain but without enthusiasm. “In the end, I had to choose the lesser of two evils.
“Does the Republican Party represent anything I stand for right now? Absolutely not,” he said. “Right now the Republican Party doesn’t even know what it stands for.”
Wurzelbacher said he now attends “tea parties” — held by Conservative groups to protest against economic policies they dislike — and does not have time to work as a plumber.
As for President Obama, Wurzelbacher said: “Obama likes to quote great men but will never be a great man himself. I can’t stand it when our leader goes around apologizing for who we are.”
He urged a grass-roots effort to hold leaders accountable. “Our ancestors picked up guns and knives for their freedom. All I’m asking people to do is pick up a book, get involved or start asking questions,” he said.
Joe the Plumber sounds like Freeper.
The GOP and its liberal lite idology, is offensive to most conservatives.
***Thas a Fac Jak!!***
The name escapes me ... a political satirist ... 30 some years ago wrote a rather humorous book entitled “Parliament of Whores.” (I forgot my Gingko Biloba) In reality the book was not stire, but total truth.
Lock and load them all!!
I know fer damn shur it’s not the democrats. Many more repubs represent the average guy better. The only dems that come even close are the blue dogs and there are only very small numbers of them.
P.J. O'Rourke?
Oh, and he's a libertarian.
The GOP could, today, make their biggest comeback and garner more support from the American people, by making one simple statement.
“The American people, by all indications, are happy with their current health care coverage and want absolutely no Government intervention into the decisions made between doctor and patient.
We will offer no alternative health plan.
We will not attend committee meetings, private or public negotiations or debates on the issue.
We will not vote in committee nor on the floor of the House or Senate for any government controlled health care plan.
Every elected member of the GOP stand in lock step, in firm and complete disagreement with this current and any future government controlled health plans.
We will not follow the current administration and Democratic controlled House and Senate into an illogical nonsensical and continued path of spending trillions of dollars in order to prevent bankruptcy.
We will not force upon the American people another Government money pit that ignores the sacred right of patient confidentiality, the patient doctor relationship and places the government as a final arbitrator on who lives, who dies, when and how.”
“The real question here is where is the political party that represents the middle class?”
That my friend is the crux of the problem! THERE IS NOT ONE!
Throw all the bums out, AND CANCEL THEIR DAMNED PENSION AND HEALTH CARE!
Yup ... thats him. I am a 54 year old lad and have numerous “senior moments” these days. Thanks for bringing P.J’s name back to light.
A libertarian and a man that has given many of us through his writing, deep insights and a few laughs as well. I think I would enjoy having a cup of coffee with him. An interesting character worth knowing.
“Wurzelbacher has managed to prolong his 15 minutes of fame since he posed some tough questions of presidential candidate Barack Obama during an Ohio campaign stop in August 2008.”
Go to Hades Reuters. Joe speaks for us you scum.
