Monday night Democrats voted to shut down the U.S. House Representatives rather than allow a handful of Republican Congressmen to speak on the floor. What could have been so offensive or frightening about our discourse that Speaker Pelosi felt she had to protect her party by gagging free speech in the House?
In fact, we had planned to speak on the lack of transparency of the House since Democrats took control. We had planned to criticize Speaker Pelosi for repeatedly denying Members, the media, and the public to right to read legislation before it was voted on. We were set to discuss House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s statement last week that if his Members were required to read the Democrats’ healthcare reform package before it was voted on, it would fail.

This has got to stop. Pelosi should not be allowed to do this and democcrats should be equally on her butt about doing this.
Any time the House of Representatives, Senate or any other branch of government is shut down it is by definition good for the country. I applaud the House GOP in getting the Democrats to shut down the House and I sincerely hope they do this more often.

When we take back the house and senate I hope they lock this old hag away and only let her out with a gag on her mouth..We know her seat is safe since she has the district that will keep electing the old hag..She won’t go until she does of old age..She is why we need term limits for these morons..

The evil is no longer denied. It seems the dems are feeling so confident that they do not care who knows or see the evil they bring.
She needs to be recalled by CA, or CA needs to have it's statehood revoked until they're fit to join a republic. IMHO.

So, why doesn’t every Republican get up and walk out, refuse to participate until they’re allowed to speak? Without a quorum, they can’t hold a vote.
We spend hundreds of millions on the congress and senate every year, picking up the tab up for their nice salaries, generous benefits and retirement we can only dream of, huge support staffs, family vacations disguised as fact-finding junkets, 6 month work years and 3 day work weeks.
In return they are supposed to be doing the nation’s business in a responsible way, upholding the constitution and serving the nation.
Instead, when they aren’t stealing and scamming to benefit themselves, they spend their time bickering, using petty and arcane rules to thwart the other party - to silence their critics and to crush ideas they don’t like. They usee very foul, nasty underhanded trick in the book to gain advantage for themselves and their parties without regard for their oath of office, the constitution or what is best for the country and citizens.
They can’t be bothered to read the massive bills they pass that are put together by lobbyists and their staff who are in the pocket of lobbyists and special interests.
They see themselves as Royalty - our betters and our masters - instead of servants of the people who elect them and pay their upkeep.
The whole legislative mechanism is corrupt and out of control. It needs a thorough housecleaning from top to bottom. The Founding Fathers would be looking at us and wondering why we put up with the antics of these greedheaded petty tyrants instead of following their advice:
