No, of course not. And, he doesn’t have his hand in our pocket either.

“No evidence” claims does not mean there is ‘no evidence’, Paulson. It just means none that has been produced or been allowed to be produced, you know, the type evidence typically kept politically hidden from public and legal scrutiny.

Was Bank of America really forced to go through with the deal, or was this just an old fashioned shakedown? Towns asked.
Probably a good bit of both. The real question should be the one of the chicken/egg nature, namely which came first? I'm guessing that the $20 billion payout to cover the Merrill's debts didn't enter the equation until after Paulson had applied significant pressure.

No Evidence of Illegality at BofA/Merrill Deal "I didn't do it. Nobody saw me do it, you can't prove anything."
We're into the third phase of the Bart Simpson defense with the denial of evidence. He has moved from his initial denial of unethical pressure on Bank of America.

The Freepathon is still going strong. Let's put an end to it.
The following is directed to Freepers who haven't donated or signed up for monthlies yet...
is good. 100% is better. You know you're going to do it. Pull the trigger! You don't have to pay it all now. $5 now, $25 next week, $10 later... keep the ball rolling.
Monthly donorship is a good way for us to avoid having to do the Freepathons. Besides, it's a great way to pony up in style.
If you're on the verge of becoming a monthly donor or you think you would like to up your monthly donation a bit, has Jim got a deal for you.
Check this out. There's an added incentive for a limited time only. (Always wanted to type that...)
Thanks to Freepers who have been frequenting the Freepathon thread to ham it up with folks over there. It helps to raise the visibility of the Freepathon.
Jump into the Monthly Donorship special thread too.
