I think he served in Vietnam. He thinks so, too. If you call faking three wounds that were so minor as to not cause him to lose a single day's duty time and, thus getting him three Purple Hearts, which allowed him to bug out on his men, and go home within three months of arriving there, service. I, personally, call it cowrdice.
