WASHINGTON – Sen. John McCain wants to remove the $1.75 billion recently inserted into the proposed 2010 defense budget for more fighter jets from Lockheed Martin.
The Arizona Republican's spokeswoman says he plans to file an amendment to cut the extra money for seven more F-22's. The Senate Armed Services Committee last month narrowly approved the additional funding requested by Georgia Republican Saxby Chambliss.

You would think McCain of all people would recognize the value of a top-class combat aircraft.
Apparently defense capability isn’t as important as illegal aliens.
He increasingly appears to be a victim of terminal Politician Disease, the primary symptom of which is the loss of perspective on everything but power and popularity.
The 1.75 billion will best be used for funding ACORN in hopes of McCain getting a position on the 0’s cabinet.
Maybe lil mrs hillary gives up her post for johnny boy.
I know that McCain was under tremendous pressure to curtail the F-22 if he was elected and the pressure was coming from within the Air Force. Apparently the Service was cannibalizing itself to pay for them.

The son and grandson of Admirals he made it to the Naval Academy but came 894 out of 898 in his class. Then he crashed 4 airplanes before being shot down in the fifth. He never made Flag rank and so never really had managerial positions let alone executive. It was a weak CV for POTUS even though he was defeated by a more intelligent individual with a CV even weaker in experience.”

We just flushed trillions down the toilet, so we suddenly balk at paying for a couple of airplanes. Right.
Maybe the Air Force can apply for some of that stimulus money.
