Palin's Popularity in GOP Soars After Quitting
Cleveland Leader ^ | Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Posted on 07/08/2009 8:13:03 AM PDT by kristinn

Apparently Sarah Palin's decision to quit her post as Governor of Alaska wasn't as misguided as it sounded at first, because it has certainly already begun to work it's magic on winning over the Republican party. According to a new USA Today/Gallup Poll, her popularity has surged amongst Republicans since she made the announcement.

71 percent of Republicans said they would vote for Palin if she ran for president in 2012, and three-fourths believe that Palin has been treated unfairly by the media.

Two-thirds of Republicans want Palin to be "a major national political figure" in the future, while three-fourths of Democrats are hoping that she won't be. Independents by 55%-34% would prefer she leave the national stage.

And that is a change, how. Sort of the same numbers McCain got in the last election.

No she isn’t winning over the Republican party, she is winning over people who have traditionally voted for Republicans. BIG big difference.

“71% of Republicans would vote for Palin if she ran in 2009.”

So... 29% of Republicans prefer Obama to Palin?
On what grounds do they call themselves Republican?

There is more than one Colin Powell out there?
Sorry. Not buyin’ it.

Now if she would just dump the Republican party and join the Conservative Party.

I don’t think Bill Kristol is surprised. But it looks like every other Washington pundit including the usually spot-on Charles K from Fox News may have misread the tea leaves. Not so for us Freepers. We saw this coming right from the get-go.

My, my! Looks like she's turning into our Golden Sarah!

Whatever lie or spin the MSM puts out, she rises and rises.

Don't forget the main RINO contingent: Romney Bots and Hucksters.

You know what... I saw how the liberals Alinsky style attacks on her with ethics charges costing her money in defense and boggling up her time were transpiring with no one having a real clue.

This stops the enemy in their tracks.

Her being out there and fighting scares the crap out of them. SO I LIKE IT!

Listen to Rush Limbaugh. Third parties don’t work. The logistical issues of getting on the state ballots etc. are prohibitive. It is what it is.

Did you see how the Far Left took over the Democrat Party? Would they have been better off to start a Liberal Party and start running candidates? I don't think so. Sarah Palin can help us take back the Republican Party. That's the right course. (And, I believe, the plan.)

Because people don't realize what they had until it's gone.

It's also like it says in my tagline:

but, but, but ..... this can't be? She "quit" and is "dead". < /s>

I'd say this supports MrB's contention that this debate over Sarah Palin is "the elites vs. the rest of us". Like Ronald Reagan, Sarah can go straight to the people without checking with the media or the GOP Beltway Boys.

Someone had posted this past weekend that her numbers on Twitter and Facebook were exploding...interest in SarahPAC and TeamSarah was increasing, as well. Wonder if these trends are continuing...

I’ll say it again, she did not quit, SHE IS RESIGNING. Funny how even the FR uses that word “Quit” when has a democrat ever “Quit” ?
