Palin's True-Believers Still Believe

Are Sarah Palin's true-believers crying, "Say it ain't so"? No, abiding by the spin-is-all rule of modern politics, they are praising Palin's decision to quit as yet more evidence of her leadership abilities.

Team Sarah, a group of conservatives who fancy the soon-to-be-ex Alaska governor, released this statement on Friday night:

WASHINGTON, July 3 -- Today Team Sarah commented on the announcement that Sarah Palin will step down as Governor of Alaska on July 25, 2009: "Sarah Palin has always been an intensely independent woman -- always true to her faith, her family and call to public service. She has taken vast numbers of Americans to a new place: politics without cynicism. And she has provided women with a new political role model," said Team Sarah Co-Founder Marjorie Dannenfelser. "Her entrance onto the public stage has had an immensely positive effect, drawing in massive numbers of Americans new to the political process. We have every confidence she will have an equal and profound impact in whatever projects she undertakes now."

"Team Sarah members anxiously await Palin's next decision on how she believes she can best serve our nation. Since the 2008 Election, the continual presence of personal attacks on both Governor Palin and her family indicate that she remains a threat to the liberal feminist political establishment," said Team Sarah Co-Founder Jane Abraham. "Despite criticism, Governor Palin's success will endure. Team Sarah's thousands of members remain as engaged as ever on TeamSarah.org. The Governor has inspired millions, and her audience of enthusiastic support will only grow in the future."

Team Sarah is a coalition of Americans dedicated to advancing the values that Sarah Palin represents in the political process. Its political networking website, www.teamsarah.org, has grown to over 70,000 activists. Co-Founders of Team Sarah include Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List, and Jane Abraham, the organization's General Chairman.

Perhaps once you've found your dream gal it's hard to let go.

David Corn looks like Olbermann's long lost older half-brother.

I listened to her entire announcement and have read her statement since. It was honorable, it was direct, and it punctuated the insane politics of our day...it also punctuated her personal commitment to fight, and to do so when it would not distract further from her job as Governor and the foundation she has built there.

I am proud of her and support her. She is a great American.

The left, the MSM, and many RINOs hate her precisely because her very life and its achievements refute all of their entitlement and big government arguements...and let's not forget, many hate her as well because she and Todd chose life for their down's syndrome son, Trig. God bless them for that.

I think Sarah has just turned, like a fed-up mama Bear, on her detractors. She has put things in order, she has left them in the hands of capable people, and she has now turned to face her enemies directly.

...and I think they are going to be sorry. We have smelled the fear in them for a long time. Good on her!

Sarah will now get her book out, go on tour, give speeches and promote conservatie principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disater and gain great political capital in the process. Then she will support conservative candidates in 2010 and help them win, amassing much more political capital. She will then take all of that and make an awesome, stunning run for the Presidency in 2012...and she has my full support.

GO SARAH GO!

Sarah is doing what is best for her state and the country, what is so hard for people to understand that. If she were a Democrat, having BS ethics complaints being filed against her every damn second, and had to resign because it was taking away from her ability to do her job and she resigned, the media would call her Joan of Ark, but because she is a Conservative Republican doing what is best for her state, she is called a quitter

It is truly amazing. All this coverage because the left fears the truth and anyone who has intestinal fortitude to point out that the king has no clothes. Sadly, not one “national conservative leader” with the possible exception of Huckabee, has shown the brains or balls to echo or support her positions. Just where are these so called leaders.

If I like Sarah Palin’s policies why would it bother me that she is not governor of Alaska next month, when I don’t live in Alaska?

I agree. And I think anyone who has proven to balance a budget is more than qualifed at this point. See: Obama's $2 trillion dollar deficit.

Pols come and go - Sarah is no different - the world will go on.

Excellent post!

I find it odd that everyone accepts politicians running for an office to which they aspire and ignoring the one they currently hold as normal (McLame, Zero, Hillary, Crist, Kerry just to name a few). Yet when Sarah puts the Governorship in capable hands and steps away before she moves on, it is dishonorable in some people’s eyes. Kinda makes my head hurt if I think about it too much.

Good explanation for Sarah's moves....see This FR Thread:

A Map-Based Answer to the Palin Question

**********************EXCERPT INTRO*****************************

There are two aspects of Governor Palin's decision to resign now, which have not been competently discussed, or discussed at all, in the main stream media. One is based on the map, the other is based in American political history.
