Palin Flashback: "Perceived Whine"
Politico ^ | 7/5/09 | Harry Siegel

Posted on 07/05/2009 6:16:21 PM PDT by steve-b

A Hillary supporter reminds of this Newsweek interview from last August:

NEWSWEEK: Sarah Palin, you are a Republican and a conservative one at that. It's unlikely that you and Hillary would agree on too many issues. But, yet, as a woman, chief executive—someone who's been through the grinder—when you look at the coverage and you listen to the conversations, what do you see?

Sarah Palin: Fair or unfair—and I do think that it's a more concentrated criticism that Hillary gets on so many fronts; I think that's unfortunate. But fair or unfair, I think she does herself a disservice to even mention it, really. You have to plow through that and know what you're getting into. I say this with all due respect to Hillary Clinton and to her experience and to her passion for changing the status quo. But when I hear a statement like that coming from a women candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or a sharper microscope put on her, I think, man, that doesn't do us any good. Women in politics, women in general wanting to progress this country, I don't think it bodes well for her, a statement like that. Because, again, fair or not fair it is there. I think it's reality and it's a given, people just accept that she's going to be under a sharper microscope. So be it. Work harder, prove to yourself to an even greater degree that you're capable, that you're going to be the best candidate. That's what she wants us to believe at this point. So it bothers me a little bit to hear her bring that attention to herself on that level.

Stevebaby ~ outside of the fact that the Hildabeast has a butt-ugly daughter (and some of us must have noticed that), Mrs. Palin's children were subjected to exceedingly ugly criticism and discussion ~ the sort of stuff that probably indicates the people at the source have MURDER on their minds.

The Obama Regime has no interest in rounding up the perps ~ or maybe you didn't notice that.

She needs to protect her kids from that sort of thing as soon as possible.

I don’t think she realize she got herself into, the lies and corruption of the media

Apples and oranges: The attacks on Hillary pale in comparison to the attacks on Palin. No other candidate has received as much hate-filled vitriol as Palin. Not even close. It’s sick.

Sarah’s a big girl and I look forward to her defending herself.

Posting commie propaganda on FR 24/7 is not constructive.

Like comparing the criticism of Harpy w/that of Paula Jones. I love the smell of Fear in braindead Libs.

Pray for America and Gov Palin

Sarah’s words are NOT commie propaganda! She was telling the truth about Hillary, about her whining over the relatively minor criticism she was subjected to. How can you call that commie propaganda?

I was sitting here thinking the same thing and nice to know I am not the only one.

Some of these threads need a hazardous warning on them because they are propaganda for the enemy.

Darned if I know how a reminder in Palin’s own words about the importance of being tough enough to take the heat is “commie propaganda”....

The attacks that Hillary whined about concerned policy, not nasty attacks on her family.

IMHO, unless a poster is going against FR rules (or against the owner of FR), or a Troll, let everything be posted.

I am interested in a broad range of information, and I am interested in which posters bring which type of information to my screen.

It provides me the "lay of the land", and the "slant and/or agenda of the poster", as these things play out.

Gov. Palin will either take the heat, or stay out of the kitchen. It appears at this time that she wants to not only come into the kitchen, but wants to do a little baking as well.

It also appears that some FR posters want to declare her recipes as "bad" before she starts cooking.

Let's see what she comes up with.

I am confident that FReepers are adults who can make their own assessments, and are not likely to be easily fooled by any posters with an agenda that is not in keeping with the stated goals of FR and Conservatives.

Agree?

As a Palin admirer and supporter, I think her bizarre resignation has permanently ended any possibility for national office. We know that she and her family have been subjected to the most scurrilous abuse - but that goes with the territory, especially for conservatives. But we don’t like quitters and people who fail to serve the people who elected them by picking up their toys and going home in the middle of their term. But maybe it’s better now than later. As Harry Truman said long ago, if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. And I’m sure David Letterman is working on some new Palin jokes.

I don’t know....I would have preferred she’d stayed on as Guv for the complete term....HOWEVER....we live in unprecedented times....the next 2 years are going to be VERY interesting, what with the Obomba ambitions ....and who knows what will come of it all....if she can prepare herself...she’ll be 10x more prepared than Obomba....and, MAYBE, just MAYBE she’ll circumvent the MSM because of her popularity and ability to pull in a LOT of interest....we shall see.....as I said to an Obomba voter in November....WE SHALL see....

All well and fine, but Truman never had his family trashed on a daily basis by the 24/7 news channels, brain-dead bloggers and news organizations purporting to report “the news.” This is a completely different situation that crossed the line long ago. No other politician has been exposed to this amount of scrutiny, criticism and downright sickening attacks than Palin. That’s a fact.

And who gives a crap about what David Letterman thinks? For a Palin “admirer and supporter” you seem pretty weak-kneed yourself.

For sure! - Nobody ever tried to burn people alive in Hitlery's church (does she even have one?)
