She was very popular in the San Francisco Bay Area. Back in 93 she made a surprise appearance at the San Francisco Opera. They stopped the opera in the middle of the performance and brought her on stage, in costume, and she spent about ten minutes making the sort of jokes she was famous for from the show. The audience loved it.

Funny show. I would watch it before Benny Hill would come on.

Holy Toledo. That’s 2 already. The guy from “Streets of San Francisco” died earlier today too. Third consecutive triad of celebrity deaths here. Who’ll be next?

RIP Mrs. Slocum. I laughed til I cried at her “pussy on the ledge” episode.
I wish someone would find that and play it again.

Betty Slocombe was a popular old gal with the San Francisco Opera crowd?
I simply can’t imagine why. Can you?
:-D )))

Those Brit comedies were the only reason I ever watched PBS, other than some of the nature shows.

She was just so funny in "Are You Being Served?" Those hair colors were hilarious!
Interesting that her death came so soon after the younger woman who played her co-worker in that show.

I watched a few reruns of this during the 1980’s. Seemed like a funny show, though some of the humor went past me. RIP, she was a gifted comedienne.
