Attempt to ‘Disappear’ Frank Lombard Moves from Church to Commune
http://www.standfirminfaith.com ^ | June 29, 2009 | Greg Griffith

CJ was the first to alert me last night to the growing attempts to 'disappear' alleged child rapist Frank Lombard from the commune where he lived in Durham, North Carolina.

Lombard's story can be found here, and in it you can see the minute-by-minute details of the way we first discovered a link between Lombard and the Episcopal Church of the Advocate in nearby Carrboro. Lombard was on the vestry of the church and was scheduled to rotate off in 2010. Saturday morning as the news began to break, ECOTA started removing from its site all references to Lombard, including his name on a page listing vestry members, then a "Who's Who" PDF that listed Lombard as a vestry member along with his Duke email address, and finally an archived church newsletter from February 2008 that we believe shows Lombard (and perhaps his two adopted children) with a group from the church posing on the front steps of a home-turned-office.

As is our habit with stories like this, we downloaded everything we thought was relevant and stored it for safe keeping before we posted anything on our site; thus we're able to provide the redacted documents for everyone to see.

We're not surprised that ECOTA would scrub its site of all references to Lombard, but it is odd that the church has not issued a statement of any kind on the matter. This would be understandable if Lombard were merely a parishioner: Anyone, engaging in any perversion, is free to attend almost any church they want, Episcopal or not. The revelation of criminal behavior may prompt a church to issue a statement, but in that case a church doesn't owe the public a statement any more than any other organization owes the public a statement in a similar situation.

But Lombard is/was on the vestry of ECOTA. While perhaps a statement on a vestry member's alleged criminal actions is not called for as it would be had the allegations been made against a rector or staff member, the complete silence from ECOTA is steadily moving from understandable (a small church, a story breaking on a weekend), to odd (presumably the rector and staff were aware of the story on Sunday, and present at the church, and able to cobble together something, no matter how cursory or vague), to frankly suspicious (here we are on a Monday morning, close to midday, and still nothing).

The failure of ECOTA to handle this crisis properly at least has plausible explanations. It is obviously a tiny church. It is probably unaccustomed and unequipped to deal with accusations this horrific, which hit this close to home. So their silence in the first 48 hours is at least explained - perhaps - by their size and unfamiliarity with how to behave in situations like this. However, it's now time to say something - anything - or risk raising suspicions that what's behind the church's silence is not simply shock or incompetence, but something worse.

Now, it appears that the attempt to 'disappear' Frank Lombard has moved beyond the confines of his tiny Episcopal church, and into the commune where he lived. Eno-Commons is a community of a couple of dozen homes in Durham, North Carolina, where Lombard lived with his male partner and their two adopted African-American boys, at least one of whom was allegedly molested by Lombard. Eno-Commons pulled their website over the weekend (their site is 403 as of this writing); the internet archive service Wayback Machine has copies of some of the pages available, but the most recent snapshot is from December 25, 2007.

Quotes from this article do nothing but heighten suspicions on what's going on inside Eno-Commons that they feel they need to block access to their entire web site, as well as to the commune itself:

Neighbors of Lombard had nothing to say about him Saturday to a reporter who visited Eno Commons, a co-housing community in north Durham.

Residents ordered the reporter to leave the neighborhood, which emphasizes communal life.

A roadblock with a "no trespassing" sign and a Subaru greeted visitors Saturday to Indigo Creek Trail, a private street in the 22-home neighborhood.

It's past time that the Episcopal Church of the Advocate issue some sort of statement. If that doesn't happen soon, then attention is going to start turning to North Carolina Bishop Michael Curry. If it comes to that, then don't be surprised if Curry, one of the church's staunchest advocates of gay marriage, begins to face questions on the appropriateness of homosexuals marrying and adopting children.

Beyond that, it's beginning to look like Eno-Commons has something to hide as well. Shock and speechlessness are one thing, but whitewashing and wagon-circling - both at the church as well as the commune - are quite another.

Here is the WRAL CBS video footage

Gay Duke University Official Molested Black Adopted Son, Pimped son to Cop

Below is a piece I wrote that summarizes some of the information that has been found so far.
There has been an attempt to make Frank disappear. There is almost an eerie silence where
this story is involved. This man was a leader in his liberal church, a friend and supporter of
controversial gay Bishop Gene Robinson. He also told cops he targeted black children for
adoption because it was easier and the younger the better because they did not know what
was going on. Please email this video to people in your churches. This is not a one off event
and the press knows it and knows that the connection between gay males and molestation is real.
What they don't want is for this story to get the coverage it deserves because it is the kind of
story that changes minds about gay adoption and gay activism.

Parish governance, sort of like the deacons in a Bapist church.
Senior warden advises priest, junior warden looks after pohysical church property adn the vestry members act as sort of the board of directors.

This crime, imo, is so heinous it still grabs the gut and will not let go.

That this entire community may be involved,in some way, in a very dirty and depraved activity lends itself to nightmare scenarios.

I hope that this story is kept alive and that this commune of sorts and the church are investigated to the nth degree. If children are being exploited, ruined and made to believe that homosexual sex is the only way they will get attention (for life) then I hope the predatory homosexual, lombard, and all other predatory freaks ROT IN HELL.

It’s beginning to look like this “commune” as well as this alleged “church” are nothing more than fronts for a homosexual pedophilia ring. I sure hope the FBI is taking a hard look at every last pervert associated with either of these two entities.

I don’t know if they are covering up but there is something about this little commune that appears odd. The Valentines Day thing to help children and adults bond? I mean what in the heck is that. Never in my life have I heard such a strange idea at Valentines day. It may have been innocent but what gets me is the quiet. No zooming in the the gay lover in tears and shock about what happened. No statements from the Eco Commons commune. The place is in virtual lock down and there are other single men of Frank’s age living in that compound also who work at Duke University. What I don’t understand is the absolute cleansing of the pro gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender references and the the expression that any and all adult relationships were accepted. All of that was wiped pretty quickly but is still available. What it appears is a community with something to hide.

The church definitely is one of those pro gay churches. They have censored their website too since this whole thing blew up. I think some may be afraid what will be found if the authorities look too deeply. These people have been operating on the the idea that they are progressives but it seems none of them have expressed any outrage or horror at their commune buddy Frank pimping the kids to strangers and having sex with them while on a web cam while drugging them up with benadryl.
Gay man or not this is not the typical molestation.

No, vestry members aren’t directly in charge of kids and Sunday School/nurseries.

I have a feeling this commune is circling the wagons for a reason, and that reason is because the commune is a front for a NAMBLA club. There is nothing these animals won’t resort to for their sick, selfish, perverted gratification. The “church” is just there for cover.

It doesn’t get any sicker than this. I strongly suspect that the FBI is digging around. I would certainly hope so.

I wouldn’t go that far but I do believe they are hiding something. How do they not know something is up? These communes are tight nit the kids play and people eat together several times a week. There may be a good explanation but so far we have none and there appears no interest in a mainstream media that won’t even call the open homosexual gay man gay. What is that about?

Duke is disappearing him as well. He’s being expunged from their websites.

There is no shortage of pedophiles and sodomites in the "mainstream" Democrat newsrooms, and they cover for each other. Remember the incredible "scrubbing" that took place following the arrest of ACLU Virginia President Charles Rust-Tierney for some of the sickest child pornography the FBI had ever seen? Nobody could even find a picture of the guy. All references to him were erased. Good luck finding a picture even now.

I'm saying this "commune" is a clever way for some very sick people to attempt to insulate themselves from outside interference with their "activities". Why else would they circle the wagons and have no comment about one of their own? Clearly, it's because the perv is.... one of their own.

You very well may be right. All I know for certain is that watching this cover up is down right eye opening. I do believe it is beginning to catch fire. If not it soon will.

Yep he is only in google cache now. I wish I could find a picture of his two boys and get the name of his male partner.

The cleansing of the homosexual references is ABSOLUTELY hitlerian, imo. I hope someone is investigating this community to the max. There are CHILDREN at high risk if this is going on.

This strikes me as a rather common reaction rather than being sinister. Being in the vestry means that he was elected. The people who voted for hium no doubt think of themselves as chumps who were fooled and want to see all this go away before it damages their church community any further. The community he lived in no doubt wants the same thing as they probably already stick out like sore thumbs in that area and don’t want his stigma to become associated with them as a whole. Who wouldn’t want to cut themselves off from this man and prevent any future association with him in the public eye? This seems like typical disassociation rather than something sinister or Hitlerian.

And that is fine but you have to realize that I am approaching this entirely from the media playbook when it isn’t a sympathetic target. It is long over due that we hold them to the standard they have created. We are force fed the idea that these open churches are so open minded and such and I think they should make a statement for the sake of the healing that is need for the community.
