Except for the four Americans killed there today. Let’s hope Hussien hasnt allowed defeat to intrude on victory. But what does he care, his concern is Hondurus where his left wing kook budy is trying to engineer a coup to return to power.

A related FR thread: Bible Skeptics Take Note: Babylon Is Being Rebuilt, Just As Prophesised by Joel C. Rosenberg

Regular readers of this weblog and my books know that Bible prophecy says the ancient city of Babylon, Iraq will be rebuilt and become the greatest center of wealth, commerce and power in the “last days” of history. The books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Revelation are explicit on this subject. Skeptics and cynics abound, to be sure, but the fact is Babylon is being rebuilt right now, in part with U.S. taxpayer funds. Iraqi leaders hope that eventually millions of tourists will come to visit, and real progress is being made. Consider today’s edition of Stars & Stripes, a U.S. military publication. They have a fascinating story this morning headlined: “U.S., Iraqi experts developing plan to preserve Babylon, build local tourism industry.”

I read this and other articles. What was noticeably missing was any element of “thanks” on the part of the Iraqi’s. Maybe the reporters missed it.....

I think that the “Victory” of which they speak is one that the Iraqi’s think they achieved over us.

An excellent read. Thank you US troops and coalition partners. Hearts and minds take time to change. Iranian youth are realizing that freedom is possible. It may take 50 years for the region to get there but I am hopeful that it will. It may not look like our democracy (but in these times, I’m not so sure what ours looks like), but the fate of the country is in the Iraqi people’s hands now, not some bloody dictator.
