Something Amiss in Indigo Creek Trail NC: Echoes of Deliverance in a Southern Gay Commune?
http://www.rpvnetwork.org ^ | June 30, 2009 | F.R Newbrough

Posted on 06/30/2009 2:56:30 AM PDT by Maelstorm

It all began on a hot southern summer day on Indigo Creek Trail much like an episode of one of those to catch a predator shows that are so popular these days and leave honest folk with their mouths slack from incredulity and disgust with the only difference being that instead of a perp coming to a decoy house stocked with fresh made lemonade or sweet tea, cameras, and an moralizing media finger wagger the authorities were instead coming to the house of one Frank Lombard and his male house mate. Frank was a successful gay man so much so that he was promoted to Associate Director of the Center for Health Policy for the Health Inequalities Program at Duke University dealing with health-disparities research studying HIV/AIDS in the rural South.

Frank was also a religious man and a member of the vestry at the Episcopal Church of the Advocate in Carrboro, North Carolina and for those of you who do not understand what a vestry is it is “an elective body in an Episcopal parish composed of the rector and a group of elected parishioners administering the affairs of the parish” so it is easy to see that Frank was nearly a man of the cloth in Episcopal terms and equivalent to a deacon in other denominations. It turns out Frank was a close friend and fan of Rev. V. Gene Robinson the controversial gay bishop from New Hampshire who was “the first openly gay, non-celibate priest to be ordained a bishop in a major Christian denomination” listed on his facebook page.

Frank had it all living in the Eno Commons gay commune in Durham, North Carolina. He even had community mandated shared meal time 2-5 times/week or so the web site for the commune listed with 38 adults and 22 children with a total of 22 households which proudly listed that “11% identify as 'people of color' (all are children)”. This breaks down to 7 children of color and no adults of color in a gay commune for those who need help with the math. Two of his neighbors Cathy Surles and Kelly Rimer are listed on the website as a being profiled in an article to demonstrate exactly how “Open to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Transgender members” the commune is. The two white lesbians have something in common with Frank and his partner in that they also successfully adopted two children “aka people of color”. The story in which they were profiled states that “Neither Rimer nor Surles wanted to experience childbirth, so adoption was the obvious route. After talking to friends, they decided on international adoption.”

Frank offered his own take on why to adopt “people of color” which is where Frank’s perfect southern life began to unravel. He told an undercover cop under his screen name “Perv Dad for Fun” “that they (black kids) are easier to adopt than white children…” and he went further to say “that the abuse of the child was easier when the child was too young to talk or know what was happening” but just to be sure that he had “drugged the child with Benadryl during the molestation” something which he had been observed doing on webcam by an informant. Frank was such a friendly guy that he invited an under cover cop to come and participate in sex acts with his 5 year old African American child one of the two “people of color” in the house at the time. The authorities arrived and instead of entertaining themselves with the children removed the two children from the house placing them in protective custody leaving 5 other “people of color” who are also children in the commune.

Frank is in a different kind of commune now after having been arrested by the FBI who as well as seizing and charging Frank, who now faces the maximum of 20 years in prison, collected his two webcams, five computers and a sex toy and as well as other miscellaneous items. No one answers at Frank’s house now and the neighbors who shared meals with him several times a week have nothing to say. There is an eerie silence from those who not long ago would talk about the gayby-boom and how adopting children made homosexuals more acceptable to the old fashioned religious folk who think such a lifestyle is wrong. No talk about how horrible Frank is or was or how they didn’t know and are aghast and disgusted. No rushing to have their children checked out to see if they had also been molested by this close neighbor. You would almost think Frank Lombard didn’t exist let alone was gay. Even the Eco Commons web site advertising the Gay Friendly nature of the commune has been scrubbed clean. They do still advertise a biodiesel van to transports the 5 remaining kids to the Central Park School for Children.

Frank has also been deleted from the Duke University web site though the ghost of his career that existed only last week still remains in google cache which is a testament to the digital world where very little is ever truly gone. Needless to say Frank is person non-grata at his church now; he is listed simply as “inactive” on the vestry page something that occurred not long after the authorities paid him a visit. Facebook deleted his facebook page though it also still remains in cache. The media still largely refuses to acknowledge he is gay or that he lived in what is essentially a gay commune. Like a weird combination of the spirit of J.K. Rolling’s “Lord Voldamort” the “He Who Shall Not Be Named” and James Dickey’s “Deliverance” with a bit of “Invasion of the Body snatchers” mixed in we see absolutely no media attention for this story outside the local news.

The same media and Duke staff that rushed to condemn and protest the Duke LaCross players can not be found. The black preachers and black outrage can not be found either or maybe rather it is being managed carefully by a media that “Controls all you see and hear” and seem deathly afraid of this story. It would be different if the precedent had not already been set but child molestation by public figures especially priests, evangelicals, or even the foot tapping of politicians in bathroom stalls is fair game and of course I still recall Nancy Grace calling down fire from heaven on the Mormon Commune when based on one anonymous phone call hundreds of children were removed from a Mormon fundamentalist ranch in Eldorado, Texas with the only concern that they might have been molested. We don’t hear any such admonitions to officials concerning the Eno Commons commune on Indigo Creek Trail North Carolina.

The silence betrays a question. We have been force fed the idea by this same silent media that the research suggesting a connection between molestation and homosexuality was incorrect and bringing such a thing up is almost automatically confronted with the cries of outrage and finger pointing that to suggest such a thing one must be a bigot and a homophobe. Even many conservatives will rush to the fire wall against such heresy it has been so well drummed into us. It as if the research from the time prior to the beginning of modern homosexual activism did not exist and that only the studies by homosexual activists and their allies are valid concerning matters of human sexuality. There have been many studies that debate exactly this very thing but the media incidentally almost never reports the ones which suggest a connection between homosexuality and pedophilia something which was widely accepted by researchers prior to modern gay activism unless it is to deride them. A good example is a 2004 study by Marie E. Tomeo PhD at the California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno, California which found that

"gay men and lesbian women reported a significantly higher rate of childhood molestation than did heterosexual men and women. Forty-six percent of the homosexual men in contrast to 7% of the heterosexual men reported homosexual molestation. Twenty-two percent of lesbian women in contrast to 1% of heterosexual women reported homosexual molestation."

This is just one of many such studies though this specific one adds further questions especially if one accepts the mainstream idea that those who are sexually abused have a greater tendency to abuse. Men who are sexually abused as children have also been shown more likely to act out and become perpetrators of sexual abuse. I personally know of one individual who was abused by a homosexual uncle. I also know that he had fairly normal interest in girls up until that point. I certainly do not know everything that went into his sexual identity but I am very concerned that many people like him will remain trapped without help with desires that may be destructive and society that feeds a modern mythology that not only tells us a Mom and Dad are not to be preferred but that little boys should be placed in the hands of men many of whom have been molested as children. That I think is unwise and dangerous.

I do not know if Frank Lombard was molested, that really isn’t important now. The crime he has been charged with is heinous but the crime that is being perpetrated on us all as we see a growing number of child pornography rings (there was a big bust just last month) and pedophilia tied to homosexual activists that seem not to care and a media that seems happy to even refuse to call an openly gay man a gay man when he commits such a crime is one of omission. This crime is especially grave as more and more children are being rushed into the hands of gay men wishing to add a child to their life with a seemingly disproportionate number of those children being children of color who already come from disadvantaged backgrounds. There are already cases where social workers have ignored the signs of molestation because they were afraid of being labeled homophobes where homosexuals are involved. Not allowing this debate does a disservice to those children and to us all.

There is one more thing we can be certain of and that is if Frank Lombard had been the deacon of a Traditional Baptist Church living in a backwoods commune and the head of a conservative Health Studies program on abstinence in the rural south at a well known college the world would know his name and his poor victimized adopted son’s also and all kinds of grand open ended questions would be asked. We'd be lucky if the very foundations of religion were not put on trial. We’d also hear about how individuals like him were all secretly sexual perverts because they were so up tight about sex and religion. Let us listen closely; cup your hand to your ear. The silence is deafening but if you listen close enough you just might be able to hear the screams of that little African American boy who ended up in the hands of a monster with no mother to protect him simply because he was black.

NO wonder the neighbors didn’t want anyone snooping around when the pervert-monster was arrested. They are all pervert monsters!

I am not sure all of them are but there is a lot of denial in the gay community and the denial and special protection the media is providing needs to end.

To fix this all the perpetrator needs to do is die. Then he will be hailed a great man, an enormous icon, someone to worship. Then all the accusations of perversion will go away, completely ignored as if they never happened. Oh wait, I’m sorry I was speaking of Michael Jackson, another homosexual child molester

I agree, and thanks for the links- people need to see this stuff.

I've done a little covering of this story on our Canadian sister site, Free Dominion, and as I said over there, this creep needs to be hauled to a wall and shot dead.

But I also strongly suspect that this is just the tip of a very nasty iceberg of gay adoption.

I know it's trite, but they can't reproduce, so they have to recruit.

Damn it all.

Exactly. Aside from the irony of this happening at Duke - and the wildly different coverage it's getting from the "sexual assault" that never happened there a couple of years ago - this guy is in a protected class and you can expect this story to be gone by the end of the week.

Yes they are afraid because they cannot rail unchallenged about racism for fear of being attacked as a homophobe. Also they get their marching orders from the Dem's, and the homo's are a Dem voting block, whether they be molesters or others, they are welcome in and unassailable.

I am homophobic because I don’t believe homosexuals should be allowed to rape young boys. And I am intolerant because I believe someone who rapes young boys should be punished, despite their sexual affiliation. And I am racist because I do not base this belief on the condition that the child was black, but instead that it was just a child and color doesn’t matter. I am so bad. Help me

I wonder if Frank had an application in to be a Boy Scout leader?

In spite of all of the ACLU and Liberal avocations, there is REAL LOGIC for the BSA ban on homosexual adult males serving as leaders. The chances for organization destroying law suits if someone molests a Boy Scout during a camping trip or other isolated activity are much increased if known homosexuals are allowed in, given the increased proclivities as pointed out in this article.

I wonder if his partner knew or participated? To even know of the activity and not report it is a major felony. There have been a number of recent TV Ads running about reporting child abuse even if you only have the faintest of suspicions. Of course it highlights an adult male and small female child.

Unreported ‘gay’ agenda items:

1) Gay “cruising” at gyms—very common and they hit on EVERYONE

2) Gay ‘cruising’ at public bathrooms and interstate rest stops—any truck driver can tell you how bad it can get

3) Lesbian bullying of straight females on many high school and college teams....I know two coaches who spend more time trying to ‘keep the peace’ between these groups than they do coaching because administration is terrified of the ‘gay’ mafia...

4) Gay marches that are nothing more than obvious recruiting rallies....

5) School sponsored Youth groups headed by a ‘gay’ person-—they are recruiting

Yes one wonders. I email Mr. Bishop and I’ll be continuing my email campaign. I think it is just because there is no media outrage. It is pretty clear children of color are being bought almost as if they are pets by homosexuals. There was a story not long ago of gays cruising to the US (California) to get little boys. There is a much bigger story and more than a few racial issues to be resolved.

It was a plan and well executed plan and the only thing that has held that plan back has been people like us standing up but the intimidation is great for anyone even individuals like Dr. Laura who did speak the truth for a time but beaten into submission. As for silence and shame most gays simply lived their lives quietly the only exception was the gay night club scene and the cruisers with the more aggressive homosexuals that constantly had problems. The whole movement is largely trumped up and there is an outright insistence that they receive not just tolerance but the right to beat down anyone that disagrees with them. We need to draw the line. It really is now or never. This isn’t like the only people who disagree with homosexuality are religious folk with quaint ideas about sex before the late 1970s it was an entirely different world for sex researchers.

You all just don't get it.

There is nothing more horrible on this planet than to be sexually molested ... even by a Republican's imagination.

If a Democrat is doing the molestation, there is no crime; no sin. It is an "opportunity for personal growth" for the victim (sorry, for the underage participant).

Yes and in the future rebuffing such advances may very well be a hate crime. It is absolutely mind boggling that a group that has a history of picking up dates or quickies in toilets receives little or no criticism no matter how many times they are run out of public parks, caught molesting children, and sharing child porn.

Don’t be so quick to blame the victims. Black ministers in Washington DC have been screaming about the railroad job that has been done on them by the gays in govt, yet few of you have heard of it.

For the same reason, blacks don’t know about this — media silence. No one in the media is saying anything. They have put a lid on this case and are doing there best to make sure no one finds out about it. At the same time the Matthew Sheppard incident was on every channel, there was the far worse case of a boy murdered by gays named Jesse Dirkhising. They kept the lid on that too.

Fortunately for us, the internet is much more available today. They won’t keep the lid on this one for long. Blacks already don’t like gays. If they find out about this, there will be hell to pay. That is why the media is silent.

You are welcome. I really hate to have to spend so much time with this issue but people are so afraid not of homosexuality itself but of being beaten down. I do get angry myself because people are purposely being kept in the dark by a media that is gone awol. We have studies pushed in our face trying to purposely misled us in that homosexuals are doomed by genetics to be the way they are when we have fairly clear evidence that shows very many certainly are not but instead are victims themselves and instead of leaving the door open for them to get help instead a big lie has been propped up with a Hollywood movie version of a lifestyle that is so removed from reality that it resembles a cruel comedic horror show than something to aspire to and then these same men are told they should want to adopt young boys to feel complete and even if they did not intend to molest they are placed in a situation in a subculture that openly idolizes young men and boys where many are reluctant to stop them even when red flags are raised.

We need to stop this insanity and the veil of silence needs to be lifted. If we are to change the scope of our culture we should at least determine the cost with open eyes because the gay activist community is not very discriminating by its very nature except in its hostility to traditional culture and even otherwise stable individuals in the gay community are lending credibility to a destructive lifestyle that doesn’t show up on TV but is on full display at gay pride parades with graphic sex acts being performed in the streets and all for what? Is this what it means to be progressive or rather a reversion to a primitive subculture?

Gay men and women successfully lived quiet lives before identity politics became the rage. That many of them were molested explains not only the high incidence of in kind abuse but also the degree of depression the need to be lifted up and the chronic narcissism. Many of these poor people had their childhood and their chances at a normal life taken from them and now we have a popular culture that closes its eyes not only to their abuse and disease and their unfitness to be parents but would enable the cycle of abuse to continue as it has for centuries and thrust the most weak and disadvantaged among us into their hands for care.

We do not have to hate but healing is not gained until the acceptance that a problem is there to be healed. Homosexual activism has thrived on externalizing what are personal problems of the homosexual individual onto the traditional culture in search of justification and release of rage and powerlessness that they feel towards themselves. This is typical of those who have been abused especially young men who seek power by striking out at the very things that would give them comfort and peace.

“2) Gay ‘cruising’ at public bathrooms and interstate rest stops—any truck driver can tell you how bad it can get”

************************************************************************
Is this for real???????

I warned my dad recently.....I had heard some stories...(when I was a teen my dad warned me about boys, now as an adult, I warn him about FDRQ MEN in bathrooms, you go figure) I had heard some stories....

One story I told my dad, I don’t know if it is true..but here goes.......there was some FDRQ’s in a local rest area bathroom, they were soliciting. Well the “local boys” were red necks and did not like it. They decided to run them out, so they got a vice grip out of their truck. They went in the rest room. (now this is where it gets graphic) The queers were sticking their “private parts” through a hole go get a blow job. So they lured a FDRQ into doing just that, and when he did they clamped and locked the vice grips on his private parts, then ran out of the rest room. It was said that you could hear the FDRQ scream for miles.

Oh to be a fly on the wall.....

A gay commune?? No wonder they don't want to talk to anyone.

Jeez, that puts another whole interesting spin. Those poor children.

It is a leftist gay friendly commune to be exact. I did some more research. Turns out a lot of single 40 somethings from Duke. It is till a hippie dippy envirowacko liberal commune though they have edited their eco commons community web site.
They do have some postings on the benefits of communal babysitting. I wonder if Frank did any baby sitting? What is really strange is this close knit community has little to say about this. You’d think there would be expressions of outrage and panicked lesbian Mom’s worried that their ethnic minority adopted children might have been molested. Where are the social workers to provide counseling to the community?

Individuals in the community can call the police and Child Protective Services. That’s what these people are really afraid of.

He can only receive a maximum of 20 years then he is out again.

Are you sure about that? Is it possible that he can receive multiple counts of the crime and have the sentences served serially instead of concurrently? Typically the DA tries to list every conceivable crime, each carrying a penalty, and then if they can prove he molested more than once -- just sayin'. The crime of internet posting and the crime of solicitation seem to be different from the molestation itself. Plus, he confessed to more than one incident while online during the sting. I hope the prosecutor can make all of it stick -- and then some.

Any NC legal FReepers care to comment?

And let’s add Oprah to that list, who is constantly promoting her gay interior designer, make-up man and celebrity friends, while complaining about her own childhood rape by her uncle and his friends. She needs to climb all over the Eno Commons den of vipers and bring her sound trucks and cameras down there to Indigo Trail for a little look-see at the remaining children, especially the children “of color.” C’mon, Oprah, get on your broom.

Way back in the 60s, our community middle school had two lesbian gym teachers who were a couple and lived together. Both were butch-looking, but one was like the Incredible Hulk. She would often chaperone the school dances, looking for any signs of heterosexual activities during the slow dances and then go ballistic. If she went over the line, wanting to throw "hand sliders" out of the dances or put "close dancers" on probation, usually one of the hetero teachers would step in and start to patronize her and defend the kids, who were just having a little fun -- NOTHING like the freak dancing and stairwell sex of today's middle schools.

This "open secret" of having lesbian coaches in the girls' locker room could only take place because society drew the line. If "Miss Sandy" stared at the girls in the showers, all they had to do was give a menacing stare back and mention that they were going to tell the principal -- end of problem. If she had stepped over the line, she would have lost her job, and so would her galpal, and their arrest and their address would have been smeared across the papers. This is tolerance, friends. We put up with your deviance if you put up with our rules and leave our kids alone.

Today, they wouldn't have to teach volleyball. They would be teaching Diversity Studies and Sex-Ed and "counseling gay and lesbian youth", and nobody in the United Socialist States of Amerikkka could stop them. Hell, they could be the principals, the school nurses, the district superintendent. No shame. Absolutely no shame.

I really hate to have to spend so much time with this issue but

Don't quit. I am very glad that you are championing this terrible crime here on FR, and in the wider cyberchannels. I did my graduate thesis on the relentless dismantling of legal protections for marriage since Brown v. Board of Education, the suit which unleashed a world of copycat civil rights offensives by every other grievance group, NONE of whom had suffered as blacks had suffered. My research soon made clear to me where the gay agenda was heading, and how destructive pansexual permissiveness is to fundamental liberties under our Constitutional system. I'm avid for the push-back to begin. Our children deserve better than the lies and distortions that are being used to justify the unjustifiable.

You nailed it again.

Oh, noes. I just read, somewhere deep in the comments of this article, that the lesbian head organizer of Eno Commons is an assistant city attorney for Durham. He'll be out in 5.

Months.
