He says the bullet left no exit wound, but gives the impression she was shot at close range.

What's an "impression"?

BTW a handgun bullet fired from certain distance won't have to leave the body. Nothing unusual about that.

Either small caliber or a large caliber with a frangible bullet, like a Glaser Safety Slug.

As to the bullet, he speculates it exploded in her chest. It killed her in one minute. Close range, no exit wound. Impossible, no. Unusual? YMMV.
