I'm willing to forgive and forget in this case simply because we need to be on the same side to fight this battle.

I fear we were never on the same side. The ones I recall were, at best, "squishy"conservatives. They were either on the wrong side of or soft on too many issues.

Personally, I've never been big on forgiveness; possibly a character defect on my part.
