6/23/2009 - ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin made a surprise visit to Sailors and personnel onboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) on Monday during the military joint-training exercise Northern Edge 2009.

The invitation came as a surprise for the governor, who jumped at the opportunity to visit U.S. service members and learn more about U.S. Navy operations.

"This is such an honor to be here," Palin said. "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for my husband Todd and I to see an aircraft carrier in action, and see what its crew does to keep America safe."

During the visit, Palin toured the ship's facilities to include; flight deck takeoffs and landings, bridge operations, a tour of the hangar bay, and a meet and greet with Alaskan constituents.

"I'm enjoying this opportunity to meet the men and women of the ship," she said. "It's a chance to meet the people who have chosen to serve something greater and larger than themselves and a good time to say thank you."

Click on pic for past Navair pings.

Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.

AL. Back in the 1930's when Britain was ruled by appeasers the British military took it upon itself to secretly brief one Winston Churchill to keep him up to date on the situation and send a signal to those in the known that this was a man the Military believed the country should support if things got rough.

This visit is no accident. The Navy just doesn't invite ANY Governor for a ride. I honestly believe the US Military is scared to death of Obama and has started to make sure the right people understand that Sarah Palin has their support. Just read the Admirals gushing words about how lucky the crew is to have this visit.

There are no random, purposeless events at this level.

I am sick of our politicians telling us what to do.

Throughout her visit on the ship, Palin was asked what part of the ship excited her the most. Her reply was simple--the people.

"Meeting the men and women really touched my heart," she said. "Just shaking their hands and meeting them is a real honor. I have a great appreciation for the military and everyone out here. When just looking at many of the young men here, I see my son. He's serving in the military and just like everyone here, has the same drive and dedication in protecting those he loves."

A class act. God bless this lady.

You forgot to mention that a good portion of the members of this forum also never miss a chance to rip and rake her over thhe coals also.

Asn for the idiots that said that she took votes from Mc Cain at least a hunderd , maybe more, people I have talked to had said that they were not going to vote for Mc Cain until he picked her.

An last but not least, If she is as dumb and stupid as the msm and communist, a/k/a Democrats make her out to be, why are they so afraid of her.

This visit is no accident.

I agree. My immediate sense, when I saw that a 2-star admiral rode a transport aircraft over to the office of a 3-star general to pick her up and escort her out to the ship, was that there was nothing routine about this visit.

In the pic below, the man on the left is Lt. Gen. Dana T Atkins, Alaskan Command Commander, 11th Air Force. The one on the right is Adm. Vance, CVN-74 Strike Group Commander.

There could be briefing going on WRT current opps, but Generals and Admirals like Sarah also. Probably went down something like this during a simple phone call: “BG Commander: “I’d like to meet the governor...she is a great lady.” Air Force General: “I can probably arrange that”.

The rest is history.....

SP is being raked over the coals

BECAUSE

of Him.

2 Cor 2:14-16 states that the “fragrance of the knowledge of Him” is the scent of death to those who are perishing.
