I smell a Janet Cooke award nominee. Anyone else find this a highly likely fabrication? I bet Salon does no fact checking on such a piece.
I don’t think it’s necessarily fabricated. You can’t get a job, no matter how hard you try or how you’re willing to humble yourself, you’re facing homelessness, the shelters are full and the soup kitchens are running out of food (at least they are in our town). What do you do? Starve? I think some women are not going to choose to die of pride. This has been going on for millenia, or for as long as there have been attractive women and horny men.
